That looks ace mate.
what was the overall thickness you have used have you offered it up yet?
i think i measured it to be about 2.3mm when i had the vents apart , mine is being made from aluminium and should be ready when i get back from my holidays.

Hey looks gr8 mike, good job!

To strip the vent can be pretty difficult at first. Open the side cover of the dashboard to reveal the fuses. There you will be able to see the vent, clipped into a rubbery type plastic housing. I used a large flat screw driver to wedge betweent the hard plastic of the vent and the rubbery housing and then push the vent out with the screw driver. Once the vent is out slightly you should be able to grip it from the front and take it out completely.

Hope you come right, post pics as soon as the bad boy is installed! :D

PS how do you post pics into the thread page without having to put a link to another sight? I read the FAQ and didnt quite understand, i see some guys post pics in the threads and others a link to the pics? Anyway i hope this works!

Hubbly, noticed you store your photos on Photo bucket.

Well very simple, just hover over the photobucket image you want to imbed, copy the IMG tag link that appears in the popup under the photo and just copy that into the thread

Should drop straight in.

Click thread preview to check it works

btw vent gauge looks tidy, nice bit of work :)

Looking good Mike, did you paint the front bezel black? Is that the paint u talking bout? I had mine made with black plastic so i didnt have to worry bout scratchin the paint. What gauge are you goin with Mike?

Invisible: thanks for the info on how to post pics, i eventually found out how to do it :) its not as difficult as i thought.

hi Mike

Just a question while u waiting delivery of the guage. Did you measure (or ask for measurements) of the gauge diameter and "lip" size? The bezel dimensions i made were specifically for the AWE gauge. Not to sure if this is a univeral size but you need to confirm this otherwise the bezels will most probably not hold the gauge in snuggly.

Cant wait to see the results

As i found out today the diameter of the hole is too small for the VDO boost gauge i got today :( Have to have it remade to my measurements

Sorry bud i only realised today that it could be an issue. Hope you come right. I am not sure what you can do if the VDO gauge is alot larger in diameter. There is not alot of "meat" left at the bottom of the bezel to open up the diameter. I would suggest moving the hole up, but it might look out of centre then.

Having it slightly re designed and remade hopefully in next few days...

Where did you get your AWE Gauge on its own and how much was it? rather than redesign my holder I can just get an AWE gauge that will fit...
Do you have a model or serial number?

Thats the AWE page for the gauge. If i am allowed to put the contact details of the salesman i dealt with (if not please remove). Michael Romano [[email protected]] Give him a shout for the A3 vent gauge kit. Maybe they can just send you the gauge and pipes (no bezel), hopefully get a discount?

Hope you come right soon, so close, but will definitely be worth the wait ;)

Kit came to $353 (pricey) but it was worth it cos the instructions are great, fitted perfectly and have been working 100% ever since. I ordered 2 x gauges so only payed for 1 shipment. Might be worth seeing if anyone else wants and then dividing the shipping costs (120$)?
