well the saga continues....and slowly losing the will to live here

AMD cannot get the manifold off as one of the bolts has seized, and if they try to loosen it any more they fear it will snap...which means a head off job and even more ££££££

I think I could have cried when they told me as on top of everything else I really dont need this right now!

so they are assesing the situation now and will try again. I have just told them to get it off and if it snaps, it snaps!! as i want all 3 bolts off and the job to be done properly

so awaiting to hear back on that. Either its going to be a £300 bill or a £700 bill!

when it does all come apart I am going to wait on this part from the US which Issam has kindly sent me with my other order with him (which if it comes loose again I dont know what I am going to do but I seriously doubt it will as it will have locking bolts, nuts, washers and this!!)

after this I might actually get round to getting the boost issue sorted

so the car is going to be sitting with AMD for another week or so now till the parts arrive

happy days.....

That part won't fit on your JBS mani tho :( it uses a different set up to what is pictured above

will it not?

the jbs mani is designed to fit onto K03(s) applications which is what the gt2x is as well (same fitment) so I can't see why it would not fit as that locking type fitment is meant to fit this application of turbo

speaking with Issam from the states he said it would fit, but could both be wrong :(

I would pay money to see someone fit that ninja star thing to this manifold

Check out the link below, page 8 of my readers ride thread, 1st pic shows my old k03s on my old JBS mani (im sure you've got the K03 collected mani aswell) there's no way it's going to fit on there as it's a completely different design to the mani pictured

When i fitted mine i used normal exhaust manifold nuts and washers, coated it all in thread lock when fitting and never had a problem (wether this was the right thing to do or not i can't say) but it wasn't blowing even after 3 hours of track time and there were no signs it had been when i removed it for the k04 conversion

Any joy yet Jamie?

was you sent that 1st tab washer? the 3 legged one?

ill buy it if you do have it :D

fraid not Rob. Last bolt is still stuck on the manifold:(

they have managed to get another modified tool now which is apparently doing the job, but is only turning the nut a tiny bit, so it will be a patient process

the initial issue was the bolt just would not loosen, as it felt like it was going to snap, but it is at least starting to budge now....

so for now I am driving around in a Brabus smart car loaned from AMD:D its not that bad actually

sorry H17och, the order was not shipped by the time we realised it would not fit, so its coming with the three separate tabs now and not the 1st tab washer that I had shown.

still, even if the bolt had come off by now it could not be put back together until the delivery from INA has arrived. Just awaiting an ETA now on delivery, so I suspect it will be at least another week before I get it back.......

still in the mean time I am spraying up the new battery cover and plastic manifold cover so I at least have something to do :)

thought I would post up some pics of the split hose that had been resting upon the drive shaft upon install of the kit....must have been rubbing quite badly to burn through the metal type casing

Jamie sorry to be the barer of bad news again
If the bolt is taking that long to come out the threads will be gaulled.
This will mean re tapping the threads if its a bolt hole or removing the stud if its a stud
