another quick question as AMD have the turbo and manni currently off, the Actuator is bent (it came back from CR turbos like this) so i presume it is meant to look like this?

if its bent, how can it be adjusted....

Jamie - surely if as you indicated in post #814, the poor fit and leak is being caused by the bolts stretching, the same problem will persist regardless of whether you have locking nuts fitted or not?

nordlocs have rising ramps on them as well as serrations which is why they claim to hold things tight in expansion/contraction/vibrating conditions.

where did you get your nordlocs?

Many turbos have bent actuator rods. Both my VF34 and TD05 are that way.

thanks mate, I thought it was fine, just AMD panicking me, but needed it confirmed:)

I will check with Simon tomorrow that nordlocs are being fitted with the bolts that are being made up

Thanks Bill;)

I have a keyring with nordlocs forming it from a trade show years ago.. seemed like a neat good idea on a product I was involved in making @ the time. It was a coriolis massflow meter, which vibratred at ~200hz as part of its function and needed to operate from -20'C to +250'C or higher at times. If anything was such an environment for showing failures it was that.
Neat yet simple solution on the face of it

I like the look of those K nuts. My kit came with nord locks, which I was impressed with.

Out of interest, my turbo is underslung and held up by bolts. Would I (and the rest of us) be better off using a stud and nuts?
