Hello!
I've had a similar car history by the sounds of things!
Mk3 Ibiza Cupra
Mk1 LCR
Mk2 Leon FR (PD170)
My LCR was totally standard, mint condition, low milage... and kept it that way (also had a Mk4 Ibiza PD100 that I commuted with) so can't compare the power really. But I'm happy with the swap. I was in a hurry to get my Leon as the MOT/Service/Road tax etc was all due on my ibiza and the only regret I had was that I didn't hold out for a Leon with more options (Xenons and heated seats) but they were so few and far between I could still be waiting! I got a low milage 2008.
I do 400-500miles a week now too, all motorway pretty much. The PD is a fairly rough engine I would say compared to the CR (as I also have a 2010 B6 Passat CR140) and it's a lot smoother to drive. The CR140 also gets dramatically more MPG 60's vs 50's when frugal, again, I know it's I comparing apples with oranges! But even the CR170 c/w the PD170 is meant to return higher MPGs. I prefered the interior of my LCR due to the black headlining etc. Facelift has a nicer interior than the Pre-FL. Regarding the DPF mine seems to regen every 750miles or so and can tell by a horrible smell when stationary and a change in exhaust note. I put this down to the previous owners doing low milage ~7k miles a year.
I'm averaging about 50mpg on my commute, £75 to fill the tank and get about 530-540miles on average.
