I had this happen on my old mk4 golf, resolved it immediately by replacing the pollen filter. If this hasn't been changed for a while, it can cause the interior to steam up a lot. Just a thought...

Hi, definately check the carpets for damp patches as that has happened on both my previous leon cupras, don't notice it sometimes because of the car mats, passenger side front and rear. Might be nothing of course and hopefully it's just the weather but leons are prone to the seals going. Good luck

Have you replaced the pollen filter lately? Might be that. It happened to me in my cupra so i changed it. Remembered this from my corolla tsport.

If you dont change it, when it demists up turn the air-con on (does'nt matter what temperature you have it on). Air-con is a dry air and will clear all misty windows in seconds! Great trick.

Some of what you're on please ..

and newspapers to clean...... didn't they do that in WWII

I use a degreaser we have at work called spectrum, smells of Oranges and is a Blanket/Roller wash, works a treat and good for cleaning your alloys too :funk:

.

Newspaper's quite readily available in most households, is lint-free and generally regarded as one of the best ways of leaving glass lookin' spotless.

There's a surprising amount of stuff that hasn't changed since WW2 - in this case, the only difference is that the ink doesn't come off anymore :p

Also, the vinegar suggestion - to avoid leaving a smell or anything, just use it heavily diluted - it's ideal for cleaning wiper blades too.

Mine's been doing this too & I think mine is genuinely down to being damp :cry:

Basically I have that issue with the blocked door seals where the water just puddles in the drivers door...doesnt actually run into the car but just puddles under the door.

I will be getting it sorted soon but I'm trying to hold out until I take the door card off to replace the speakers sometime in December.

Could be similair for you as well?

Another sensible reply I'm afraid......

Tesco sell large bags of 'silca gel' [the same stuff that comes in the wifes many shoe boxes], try putting a couple of these in your door pockets to absorb the excess moisture, you can then just dry them out when they stop working as well.......................;)

So is replacing the pollen filter supposed to sort the problem? I had mine replaced at the last service 2 weeks ago and ever since the windows have misted up 3 times worse than they did before. I thought it was just the cold weather we're getting up north

im having a problem with my Leon at the moment. The airflow from the heater doesn't seem to working correctly.

I had the heat on full this morning and there was very little air coming out of any of the vents and my windows were steaming up and i could hardly see where i was going. The fan seems to be running as normal but the amount of air coming out of the vents is far less than normal

any bodu any ideas?

hi could be your heater matrix that has gone........ have a look at your car mats are they damp / wet ,look in the rear footwell usually shows wet here first,,,,,,,,,,, its the way the car shell is built.

turns out it was the pollen filter that was soaking with water and it was blocking the airflow into the car.

replaced it this evening and airflow is back to normal.

hope i dont have a leak out some sort :(

How how did i find this out. Well i got some on a mirror in my bathroom wiped it off then had a shower. There was a round spot on mirror with no steam

no one has asked yet why you were using pink baby lotion and needed a shower after  jk

must confess it's not the first time i have heard it - a classic TT rider has said the same for visors along with an ex-para who reckons urinating in new boots softens the leather up a treat

if theres water in the filter , then the water can get in to the cat i had this prob ,there is a funny plastic rubber thing that should seal / stop any water getting in to the filter its under the bonnet and just under the corner of the skreen. make sure that this is in the right place and sealing the filter...... or you could have all the water that hits the skreen ,inside your car //// i did/// also when you stop the car and put the heater off listen for a sealing noise from the heater its at this time that the heater seals. the pollen filter and then only then turn ignition off. you should hear the faint sealing noise about 1 or 2 seconds after the heater is turned off. but you will only hear ////if you listen for it //// .

maybe wrong but
cars only steam up inside due to moisture so if you
have a problem water is getting in somewhere
