Thanks Ben, yea i couldn't find much about it either so thought i'd ask those who know :). I'll be getting most of the work done up here tbh as i've got enough friends and family in the trade to get everything fitted, i'll be getting stuck in myself too, practice for a mk2 golf build currently sat in the garage with no engine lol.

I've PM'd Bill about the valves and porting, i just don't wan't it in the risky EGT area as that's probably why it's started to lose water twice since i've owned it...

As far as I'm aware it tends to be exhaust manifold, DP and cat that are the restrictive parts which build up EGT, so you probably want to look there before porting the head :)

Already got Piper 3" downpipe, scorpion de-cat and scorpion 2.5" cat back.

And i've just bought a Relentless v2, i've heard there risky but flow better, but the guy i bought it off had all the weld's redone before first fitting so going to risk it. I got for £200 so if it goes it goes, But i'm guessing if the EGT's aren't that high it will be less likely to crack?

Is it worth getting it wrapped or coated? i don't know if anyone has done this but if it makes minimal difference and costs loads i won't bother.

Yes I've heard a lot of bad press for Relentless manifolds, but if he's had welds done hopefully you will be okay.

Interested to know whether you had your 3" DP and decat on when you did the initial logs?

@ collector
just a question of how long it takes

egts will be an issue.. unless you run lower boost and higher ign timing..

relentless v2 on hybrid k04, largeport head, S3, 330-340bhp, with wmi

My k04 high flow cast manifold on 360+bhp in comparison (835'c on this run max egt)

Quite some temp difference... more flow, more power.. less egt's..

Hi All,

Ok so i went abit mad and sent my BAM head off to be ported, about a week later i spotted a deal on ebay for a forged AQX from an IBIZA cupra.

IE rods Bearings and piston rings, Supertech Valves Springs & retainers, however this is smallport too.

This cost me less than it would of to buy the Rods and bearings so i got it anyway.

Now i'm going to take this AQX head to the place doing the porting work and have them put all these supertech internals in my ported head, my question is;

Do i use the non VVT actuator and intake cam from the AQX or
Do i use the VVT actuator and intake cam that's already in the BAM head

I'm going to be reusing both heads one for a golf but not sure if there's any benefit on my cupra from either setup. I only know the intake cams are different??

I'll end up with A BAM ported & superteched and a AQX with internals from a 40k head.
