lots of things dont come up on vagcom, dont rely on it totally. Things like leaking pipes etc all sorts.

The members on the other forums had similar misfiring and seem to have done everything you have done with the one exception of this amplifier on the airbox, which im struggling to find any info on. It would be good to test it or find out how. Maybe check the wires to it etc?

Right iv just been thorugh all your codes and most are cylinder misfire, some point to a lambda sensor which is due to not having a cat. Im not certain but this may cause limp mode??? But as i had very similar symptoms i still would suggest MAF or something to do with your filter. Jabbsport gave me this advice

Check the MAF readings in the Measuring blocks, make sure the vehicle is up to temperature and with the Air Con off take a look at the MAF G/S, group 2 from memory, Ideally you should see 2.90 G/S at idle and at 3000rpm 10-11 G/S (Perform this procedure Stationary!!) if you see low 2 and low 9 readings the MAF is going off and will cause running issues.

the car was fine mate i took u for a test drive and give it beans well over 9 psi and u know that.

its somthing simple mate as if it was major it would run on 3 from idle, something is breaking down under load.

plugs- mite have been a dodgy one in new pack
MAF - iv had one in the past that was broke b4 iput it on the car, made the car worse
doubt its a leaking pipe as that would not cause it to run on 3 i dont think.

wires goin to the coil packs? the resistors still in place ?

loads simple things check for

Hi mate

Are you running an after market air filter, ie sports type (kn etc)

And if so do you have an ignition amplifier on your car that would have sat on the old airbox? Might be worth looking at that as its a common fault on other forums.

One other thing, if you havent already done it check the thick intake boots, even take them off and give them a good looking over, audi had a common fault that the clamps had a sharp underside that could crack the boots where the clamps secure them.

hope that helps!

The amp, if its fitted is on the second link on the post i put on yesterday.

The boots are the thick intake pipes leading from your air filter, they look like the arms from a 1950's robot!, and any others similar around the engine. maybe see if you can hear air escaping when its idling with the bonnet open?

One other thing, you can buy 'easy start' which is useful for spraying around hoses and vacuum pipes, gaskets and the like, any leaks will cause a change in revs if you find one.

no mate there are deffo no air leaks

right. i put this new MAF sensor on and its different ok in the sense that its not sounding quite like a machine gun but now its like a kangaroo. one minute its sputtering then its on full bost then its spluttering and popping & banging again. its all over the place! dont understand?

JJ you said something about having to set the MAF up to my car? what did you mean by this again?

you are confusing the older me3 ecu type ignition system with external ign amp..
ibiza cupra are coil per cylinder no external ign pack.

purely ecu driven.
