MIB3: Wireless Full Link (CarPlay + AndroidAuto) works! Thanks to OBD11

Hello everyone, I hope I'm not creating a duplicate topic. I apologize in advance, I'm French and I don't really speak English. so i use google traduction.
We have just purchased a seat ibiza from November 2021 equipped with the MIB3. The screen has a button for the "full link" but this option requires an activation key. The dealership that sold me the car tells me that it is not possible to unlock the full link, my usual dealership tells me that it is possible. I contacted a company that offers coding and according to my chassis number the PR code unlocks this function. Could you tell me if this is really possible and if it is doable via OBD11? Suspects it's a paid license it's how VAG work. You buy 4k TV but it's SD till you buy the license to unlock it (if it was a VAG TV). Cheaper to make it like that then they charge for functionality that the customer hasn't bought controlled by software unlocking.
It depends whether the Obdeleven people have found a way around it. The wireless Android auto what this thread is about was that it just needed coding. I suspect there is still a way to go before things that need activation by a dealer with mib3 can be done via user coding. They use a security key for the licenses so that is protecting their income stream.
Ask trusty @East Yorkshire Retrofits for their views on this who I'm sure have the way with all to do the official method I guess.

Waze is allowed with us. I'm mainly trying to find out if it's possible or not. If a modo tells me it can be done at the dealership, I could pay. I do not hide that a solution like odb11 and cheaper than concessions is not to be excluded. There are no small profits as they say

Referring back to post #1 the conditions have to be met that its sold with AA but not AAW. It's a sort of suck and see. Now I did put @Sly870 onto it with an Arona FR and they got it working. I pinned the thread up on the Arona side:

Several things if the firmware is updated you still got to let Obdeleven do it's work. The infotainment unit is programmed so as to speak from the long string. Yorkshire Retrofit was telling one person they had old firmware since they were offering to sell them the new firmware. I said you'd still have to change the long string. The infotainment unit how it works reads the long string. Sort of 70s programming where the behaviour of the package (the infotainment unit) is steered by the parameter file (the long string). Change the firmware but not change the long string in the car you won't get AAW. (You wouldn't know I wrote Fortan packages in the 70s... The distributed control system in the car is 70s computing.., or even 60s, covered it in my degree course
... The guy in charge of VAG did a similar degree in Germany but mine was just a minor subject in computer science 
... was interested in the guys background, my major was mathematics. Distributed control systems were the hot thing then). It's Obdeleven / VCDS that programs the individual modules of the car. Each has a parameter file to control it's behaviour. End of lesson.
@East Yorkshire Retrofits pointed out that a different external bit of the unit also had to play good and so far it has in all poster with their DIY coding. Post 61. So far all has been good.
Basically you just have to try it. I'd always find a use for Obdeleven by keeping an eye on error faults etc. The Ibiza mods apply to the Arona so there is a world out there even if it fails.

Good afternoon! Just curious if anyone here has managed to get wireless android auto working on a '21 Arona FR? Seems, for some reason, my Android auto will not work on the Mrs car anymore but works perfectly fine on any other car I try AA with. I believe these have wireless android auto but...

I bought Seat Leon MK4, 11/2020 with MIB3 10 inch. Full Link is not available.

The thread is about where the car comes with full link but wireless Android Auto was not enabled. It wasn't enabled on some early models you are further back from that in that full link has not been activated. It's going to be sold as a license I guess in your country. It will be a FeC (function enablement code).

What is FeC. It is something I need to buy from Seat dealer, or it is I can found in OBD diagnostic?

I always use to explain it as buying a TV but you paid extra for HD by buying a license to turn it into an HD set. Now it's like paying extra for Dolby Vision HDR
. Basically its cheaper to make fully specified hardware then selling codes to unlock the functionality. Licenses. Under software control.For Mib2 enthusiasts found ways of unlocking the functionality without a license. You will find that on the net. For mib3 I suspect it's not out there. It's what retrofitters used and paid a price from each other, then enthusiasts made it free writing their own code. Early days one suspects for that.
You can't always buy the option from VAG as they better lock down their stuff so they might not post sell the licenses which if bought at the time would give you the functionality. Mib2 was sold without full link activation in some countries. It would seem similar with Mib3. You might find a dealer to do it.

You need an activation document, these are available from your local dealer - you'll need them to activate it too. The document contains 3 codes which when entered in the guided function within ODIS, prompts the VWAG mothership to generate and install the necessary FECs into your car. It also records the activation against your cars build information

SFDv2 is coming along soon, this isn't something that will be accessible via obdeleven or even independent workshops
. It'll also be present across all platforms.
The diagnostic firewall is designed to prevent the vehicle being manipulated without the knowledge of the owner/driver. With most vehicles now having an online connection, this makes more and more sense. It's a legal requirement for new vehicles.
