As per title I'm seeing quite a lot (well what looks to me like a lot anyway!) of the creamy/brown looking mayo in the filler neck/ under the engine oil cap & also a small amount on the dipstick too!
I'm only doing about 4/5 miles (each way) to work and back mostly so obviously the oil will never be getting upto temp properly as the water/ engine temp struggles to get to temp in the time it takes me to get to work (& i know oil can take a good 10/15 mins+ extra to reach temp.
I've already read a few threads that do seem to show that its generally a case of very short journeys meaning the engine never gets properly warm and iirc this problem only seems to have reared its head since the service (which was done last November) but also being. Winter time'ish the temps have been low as well ( that's me thinking/ hoping its NOT a buggered head gasket or similar!).
Are these engines generally VERY solid and HGF is rare!?!?, or is it a possibility!?? It's more the amount of mayo that's bothering me more than anything, & the fact I cleaned it all out a couple if weeks ago - but it's all come back again!!!
Side note - the engine doesn't appear to be using coolant ( coolant looks clean) and it isn't chewing oil either isn't smoking excessively as far as u can tell!, hopefully it IS just short journeys/ colder weather, but what do you guys say ( hopefully these photos will upload via my phone!)
