Just wondering how fast the Cupra 300 4Drive could go if the limiter was removed? Not planning to do mine but was curious. If I had to guess I’d say about 165mph

You’ll find that most of them are already delimited. Even though it’s told that they are limited to 155mph, there are plenty of videos on YouTube showing cars way in excess of this.

I have a friend with a 66 plate 290ST who says he hasn’t had it delimited and I’ve seen proof of it recording 169mph.

That's because the speedo isn't accurate and isn't showing a true speed, when it does hit the limiter the speed will be 155 not what the speedo is reading

So they're limited to actual and not speedo 155 mph then? Or not limited at all?

They are limited to 155mph actual speed no speedo speed, they are all limited unless its been removed, they all receive the same software why would some be missed? Say its out by 10% so at 27mph the speedo is reading 30mph which they normally are, 10% on 155 would be 170 on the speedo which is what people have claimed to see

Makes sense. Seen a clip on YouTube of a guy in Genrmany doing 250kph (GPS) which is exactly 155mph

Agreed

at an indicated 170 will be doing real world 155 as the speedo will be waay out at those speeds

There's a couple of limiters hidden away in the ECU (the one below for example), you can see them in VCDS.

Might see if I can borrow a stock Cupra/ Cupra R or even Cupra Ateca from SEAT Press this week to see if any of them have it installed using VCDS or will take a ECU data dump and see if I can see it hidden away in the HEX to see what the exact figure is.

Mine on stage 3 does speedo 300kph+, I had somewhere gps trace with 295.
I think it would close 6th gear in manual but I had my pants full and I did not try more.
Anyway it gets to 300 club :)

183mph GPS? I had a fair few runs in Germany with mine dont think I ever got that high though. Maybe 178 on the clock. Ran out of road most of the time.

By the way Stage 1,2,3,4 etc wont increase top speed as such as you are limited by gearing although increasing the rev limit slightly will, just means you get there quicker.

I have a limiter set to 7200 rpm.
If I recall well it gives 312kmh if you take the gear ratios in manual.
I would say that if you take out the limiter stock cupra will end around 260-270 gps.
To pass 300 kmh I think minimum is 430-440 hp.
