Planning ahead for my new mattress being delivered, will my old double mattress fit in the back of the Leon? Folded over obviously. Anyone attempted this? :)

A single fits in flat with the front seats a bit forward so a double folded over should do :)

You are meant to get one collection by the council a year, it's part of the council tax break down, but when you call, it's like " Oh we can collect up to 6 black bags of crud and that's it."
Worth a call as my pals borough came and collected a full kitchen once he broke it down. Alternatively tip the garbage guys a tenner and they'll take almost anything.

Never put a mattress in the Leon yet, but I can fit a 7'2" surfboard and an 8' surfboard perfectly fine with the passenger seat back rest all the way back.

Also never heard of freecycle before, just had a wee look now and it's brilliant! Will definitley be giving that website the old bookmark. Cheers!

Yes, you can- albeit with the front seats forward (you'll have to drive with your nose on the windscreen to wherever!) I know this because I moved my double mattress in mine 2 days ago as I was moving house! Good old bungee cords kept it folded up =)

Thanks all, I'll get it in folded over then by the sounds of it.

Council isn't really an option cause it's a flat and it's unfair to everyone else for me to leave it outside while I'm waiting for collection.

I would freecycle but I'll end up waiting for someone to collect and my g/f doesn't like the idea of someone else "using" our old mattress.

Yeah, getting rid. Good one!

You want a mattress in the back to turn your Leon into a passion wagon.:happy:

Got to love that female logic, next you'll not be selling on any cars because the new owner might "use" them, and your sofa is for life now. ;)

I have experienced similar, the sad thing is I couldn't convince her otherwise.
