Hiya everyone,
I'm hopefully going down tomorrow to pick one up.But I'm not too sure what the differences are between this "Cupra 2" and a normal Cuprasport/GTI 16v.The one im looking at has got all the goodies such a Air-con, sunroof, alarm, Imob, Half leather and apparently the "standard cupra 2" 17" white multispoke wheels. Was also told that there were only ever 60 brought to UK.

Can anyone please confirm any of this??

Cheers :D

they arnt 17s mate they are 195 45 16 shed ronal multispokers, theres not much difference, more of a rebadging to sell more of them near the end of their lifetime in the forecourt.

You are right indeed. I have just phoned the seller and they apologised, saying that they were looking at the tyre receipt (saying 17" tyres/wheels)......but it was from their Leon and not the Ibiza :D

Oh well, 16's have better handling and cheaper tyres than 17's anyway :)

Cant wait to see it (and hopefully buy it) tomorrow

Im sure that latelly in Autotrader have seen "normal" GTI/Cuprasport's , also with Red seatbelts. But Im pretty sure that not all have them. The 2.0 16v mk2 Ibiza range is a bit of a mix and match really :D

But what GREAT cars

very nice :)
although iirc 195/45/16 tyres are not cheap!!

15s and 17s are cheaper to buy bcos there are more made. might be wrong just what i thought.

£50 quid gets uniroyals, yoko (but why would you!) and low end dunlops. £40 quid and youd be better taping the pound coins to your brake discs and use them as tyres.

True. But that usually only applies to budget tyres. If you buy Toyo's, Goodyears or Pirellis than their 16" versions are cheeper than 17" tyres they do.

Will post up some pics when I get the car (finger crossed)

I got a set of 195/45 16 Yokos for my Polo for £30 a corner.

They aint great in the wet..lol

An old work friend of mine had a T plate Ibiza Cupra (possibly a 2) it had red belts, half leather, white Ronals, A/C etc in a nice purpley blue colour.

seen the car it is very nice, seems high priced though. Looks good in the pic, good luck with getting it! I love my valver

Managed to haggle it down to £2500 and get her to give it 12months MOT as well. From the description that she gave me it almost sounds to good to be true. But gotta take it with a pinch of salt. Will need a "proper" 16v GTI front splitter tho. Going to order one up from the SEAT dealers tomorow, if i do get the car.

Wish me luck people

Yeah thats about right price then, Mk2's seem to be going for daft prices again at the moment i dont understand why some or going for £3k when £1500 more will get you in a MK3. I forget how much tax etc it had but if thats low and its not had a cambelt change yet then their big bills to come and try to use them as bartering points if you can. Even so for that price i'd have it, just a shame it doesnt have the cupra 2 vinyls on the side.

If you havent insured it yet try direct line for a quote they do my group 15 cordy for £490 fully comp, i'm 22 with 4years NCB.

I sure did :D

Here are the "Cupra 2" spec that mine has:

- 2.0 16v with red HT leads
- Metallic black
- Half leather interior
- Red stitching on steering wheel
- Red seatbelts
- Silver dials
- Carbon fibre like stuff on door pillars and number plate surround
- Air con
- Sunroof
- 16" white multispokes
- Remote alarm, central locking and immobiliser
- Electric windows/mirrors
- Power steering and ABS
- 2 airbags

Bad bits:
- No traction control (wouldn't need it anyway ;) )
- Front splitter from a 1.4 (have already ordered up a GTI one, picking up tomorrow)

Absolutely love it. Taking it easy tho, as it has almost 3x more power than my 1.4. Worth every penny (especially with only 50K on the clock and a full stamped service history)

Pictures to follow on Thursday :D
