Low coolant warning light

hi guys,
looking for a bit of help. when i start my car first thing in the morning when it is really cold (this morning -5!) the low coolant warning light bleeps and flashes. if i turn the engine off and start again it usally doesn't come on again. i have checked the coolant level and it seems fine. its only happened a couple of times but just wondered if it was something to do with the cold weather, a common problem or just a faulty senser? car is a 05 fr tdi. cheers

have you tried a search as this is the most common question asked on here.

Discussed probably about 100 times a week for the past 5 years ;)

P.s...You either need to descale the prongs on the sensor in your expansion tank, or replace it. Not expensive, about £15 for a new tank, or 10-15 mins with a flat bladed screw driver cleaning the sensor :)

I've had the same thing every morning for the past fortnight or so... it's annoying but a switch off / restart shuts it up :) As Mitchy says, either descale the sensor prongs or replace the bottle...
