No doubt the boxster is a fine car and one of the best handling cars around but its just the image of the thing that gets me, same wit the 3 series.

boxster isnt a bad car, when compared to something like a S2000 and the like, but the fact is its a porsche, you dont buy a porsche to be a fanny in.

and its true what jezza said, people look at you whatever and think "you dont quite earn enough to buy a proper one"

The main gripe is, when you think of a Porsche, you think of a nice Cerrera S or a GT3 or something, but since they brought out the Boxter, i.e. so 'normal' people can have a Porsche, the people who bought them got a superiority complex thinking they had the afore mentioned GT3... bit like *some* BMW drivers... they think they are driving a luxury motor now they've bought a £2K 316 !!!

how many "affordable" ferraris were made, they dont need affordable porsches IMO it wrecks the whole image

besides it was the guys attitude i had problems with, i just used the car as a weapon :)

Thats true enough, but there are plenty of people that buy 1.4/1.6 litre Leon's and tart them up to look like an LCR. Is that so different?

But image is a problem - I have been around Goodwood in a Boxster S being driven by an ex-touring car driver, and sweet jesus did it ever handle. Not a lot there that could keep up with him. Chassis dynamics are awesome.

The fact that they are bought by hairdressers, lip stick heavy dolly birds and estate agents is a very sad downside ;)
