How did you actually do it ?

Did you simply remove the gear knob and gaiter and hack a bit off the top. I thought about doing this a while ago but wimped out when i realised its might not be so simple.

Put it into first so it's not rocking about in neutral, and go for it mate! I cut off 2", and it looks nicer now anyway :)... Use a big hacksaw, not a junior one lol. ;)

Right here's a pic, on a saturday as promised ha :p... I need a new emblem thingy on the top, as mine has somehow worn on it? :S Not sure how...Cos the decals don't seem to be on top for it to get worn in the first place;

:)

Looks a bit better in my opinion. This will be the most mundane mod of 'em all from now on, I swear haha :p

Does the knob screw on? Or push?

Well there was a clip on it with 1.75 on it, which meant to shaft size I assume, And it was correct. So - with some persuasion, it just pushed on snuggly :) I don't think there's a thread there (inside the knob), cut it off the shaft anyway yeah :p

Take it easy on the caps lock mate! haha ;)... Yeah check out my readers ride, more pics on there. And yeah I lightly sanded it down to a matt finish, finishing off with 800 - 1200 grade sandpaper, and that was a good enough key to prime and finally gloss. :) Everything was pulled out in order to spray them... I didn't do them in the car lol. Take care taking things appart inside, and make sure you screw and fit them back properly or they'll creek, rattle and might stick out...?

If you're having any difficulties removing anything, then pop me a question over PM :) Hope that helps! :)
