Hello everyone,

As this is my first post here i'd like to say it's very nice to meet you all.

The problem i have is a bit strange and i haven't found anyone with a similar issue so far. When the temperature drops, the car won't start when i turn the key.

What happens exactly is this: i turn the key in the engine start position and wait for a few seconds while keeping the key turned. Nothing happens. I then turn the key back a little (but not to the previous position, where all the dashboard lights turn on) and the engine starts. This happens at fairly decent temperatures between 0 and 6-7 degrees. When the temperature drops lower it will get harder or impossible to get the engine started.
When the key is turned completely there is no sign of movement coming from the engine starter.
Also, once i've started the car and kept it running for 1 minute or 2, it will start again if i turn the engine off and then back on. This makes it impossible for me to prove anything to Seat about this problem, short of leaving them the car for the night (from past experiences with the dealers in my country, it's not a thought i hold dear). They found no fault codes when i went to investigate the problem as the car started perfectly.

Glow plugs light goes off after a short while and the battery doesn't show any sign of weakness. Has anyone encountered anything like this before or might have any advice on what to check?

Thank you

This could be just a simple thing such as a bad battery contact. Discoonect your battery and clean the terminals then coat them with copper grease and reassemble. If this does not work it is most likely the starter motor or the connection to it. The only other possibilty is the keyswitch itself which is not uncommon.
