leon SDI - is it an import?

ive put a deposit down on an immaculate 02 leon, in black.
low miles, etc - but its an SDI.

a few people have suggested that SDI leons were never a UK car, so it is an import.

also - the service book has no dealer stamp to show which dealer the car originated from.

and......... when i put the car in for insurance quotes, it comes up as a "TDI S", which it is not.

have i been had over? is the car an import?

howcome the car is coming up as a TDI on insurance quotes?

go here and check what it comes up with.

dodgy well it`s definatly an import and probly from ireland if it`s an sdi engine

not dodgy but personally i would not buy it due to resale value etc

90bhp and 110 can be picked up cheaply personally i would go for the 110 but depends on your budget.

sdi`s are slow and rough drove one in a vw caddy.

is there any complications as a result, or is it just seen as a UK car now?

if your after a diesel i would go for a newer 03 or 53 with more miles but

a 110 or 130 you will getting nicer seats and climate etc other goodies apart from a better engine better resale value too

it can never be a uk derived car because they where never sold here, insurance will be difficult to get quotes for because it wont show up on there system.

and it will be hard to sell on , if you are questioning the car now , so will someone else when you come to sell it.

honestly mate i would get you deposit back and go and find a nice 110se or maybe if your lucky a 130se .

remeber the new leon is out and deals are there to be done take the stickers prices which a pinch of salt .
