I've reprogrammed mine but dont know if it works with a 106 cable cos you need the right file to program onto your cable, i could send you the stuff you need in a zip file and you could try it. The cable is probably a 805 anyway, thats why you couldnt get it going. Someone else on here said they couldnt get a 106 cable to work with 106 software. Let me know your email address and I'll send you the instructions and software tonight when i get home.

think i need help !!

i bought a vag com cable from Dh gate and im having some problems with it !! i loaded the software on to the computer and i can access the menus and do fault code checks but i cant access all of the menus to change settings. is this normal or have a fooked up ? ive changed the staging so i have needle sweep so i know it kinda works. it said i needed the newer version so i downloaded new software.

help please !!

if you have downloaded the new software and then tried to plug your cable in im sorry but you may have just destroyed your cable. Never open the program while the internet is switched on as this will fook your cable. My best advice would be to totally remove all your vag com software and then reinstall and hopefully your cable will still work. On a seperate note how did you get the needle sweep to work??
If you find your cable is broken you can reflash it to get it working again (google search will sort you out) I found on my leon (57 plate ) that the 704 software wouldn't work so i bought a new cable with the 908 software and it works great

ive probably fooked the cable then !! is there software on the actual cable ?? is that why when you have downloaded previous software it might fook it ?? bum !!

ill clear the computer of vag com soft ware and search for the new software for my cable. its a 106 cable if that makes a difference ?? also anyone know where i can re flash my cable before i start searching ??

if you look in instruments, then go to staging, then enable that. not too sure if it will work on your pre-face lift though !!

i need to reflash my cable too. it's vag 106. there is no data on google. it's just for 704. i need 106 reflashing datas. tommy_a if you can find a solution please let me know. I'm getting mad about this cable. Help me before i kill myself with this cable brrrr..

I have a 106 vag cable bought from china. But i couldn't make it work not even once. I didn't use the cd came with it. it was 10.6. But people here told me that with win 7 64 bit only 10.6.3 works. Then i downloaded it and tried to use it with my cable. The cable never worked. i think it is bricked now. the led on the cable never showed on.

i have also tried 10.6 came with cable on vista 32 bit and xp. when testing the cable. it says "cable not plugged into car" while the others are ok.

I need a help. i have a cable and a little hope. Thanks in advance.

If so anychance you can upload the files you used to flash the cable tp papid and tell us how to flash the cable?

I have the new 2011 Leon and cannot complete an autoscan either, is there something you can post in this thread that may help me out as I cannot send PM's yet, not enough posts I think.

I think it is 805.1 that I am currently using, came with the bestofferbuy cable. Most other bits seem to work ok within the VAGCOM software, just this bit doesn;t return anything.

You're better off with version 908 for a FL Leon. 805 missed a load of settings so i got 908 as well

Hello.

Is there any option to select side markers as drl on vag10.6?

I want my side markers to flash %15 all time when i turn on the day light like American style.

I have googled it but i couldn't reach the 09 cent. elec. byte 7. There is no box to check. Also there is no option to chance dec to %15 like google told me.

Any option?

Just tried all the other codings and it's great, spent around 5mins straight just unlocking the car to hear it beep money well spent!

Oooo was it the horn or a different beep? With my technical abilities id have the car ready for the crusher in 5mins. Any members in Belfast handy with their cables?

I uses the alarm siren, Chirps once for lock and twice for unlock. A cool thing is if you lock the car with say a back door open it does not chirp until you shut the door and it then sets the alarm and chirps.

Just a note, on my FL I had to set the chirp in module 9 using adapation to get it fully work, where o a pre facelift it is in module 46 coding like in the link. On the FL you can do some of it in Module 9 coding but it is easier using adaptaion.

I've just picked up my 2009 FL FR TDI and want to make some changes via vag-com but need a new lead as I have an old one for my mk1 fr which I've just traded in.

I notice from reading the entire thread there have been numerous links to leads and software but some of them are dead links now.

Which version is best for a FL FR? DHGate seems to be a popular website to order via but on searching 'VAG COM 10.6' there are loads of leads, any particular one people can recommend? Is 10.6 the best version for my vehicle?
