Hi forum,
I have a 22' 1.5 TSI manual Leon and I find it hard to pull away quickly and get clean shifts.
The first gear is so short it barely gets the car moving, and you can't shift quickly into 2 as you have to wait too long for the revs to drop. When I let out the clutch in second gear the revs are still up and the car jerks around.
Every time I pull into a busy road it feels like I am holding up traffic and shifting like a newbie. Never had this with issue with the other car I drove, which was a Peugot diesel and had basically no rev hang and you could shift quickly with no issues.
This is my first "modern" car with a manual and I did not realize this on the test drive, so my fault I guess but it's getting on my nerves.
Of course there is not much to do about the short first gear, but is it possible to tune out the rev hang?
It seems like a big topic on modern Golf GTI's in other forum, but never mentioned with the 1.5 TSI.
Anyone also had this experience and knows if there is a fix to it?
