Guys, could someone tell me what the best sealant is to use when sorting the common pollen filter leak ? Is it just a case of re-beading the existing sealant? I did use the search function but couldnt find a definitive answer...

This bad weather has left my Leon like a swimming pool inside! :(

Thanks

Butyl-strip seems to be the weapon of choice for doors, so I assume it also works on pollen filters?

I don't remember there being ANY sealant on the pollen filter. It's a replaceable item, you'd be replacing the sealant every time?

It leaks if it's not fitted properly, but I don't believe it needs to be sealed?

True, but doesn't the housing also leak? Maybe not?

It's definatley the pollen filter, discovered it a few weeks ago and thought I'd cured it, but it's leaking again. Auto glass had done a replacement screen a couple of months back and It seemed like the cover had been put back in badly. I took it all apart and put it back in and seemed fine. If u lift the filter out there looks like there's a beading of sealant around the locating edge of the ducting? Thought this might be the problem does this sound about right?
