g/s looks fine now but its still pulling too much cf's for some reason, J.

Can you do some more of blocks 115 and 031, then 118 and 032?

Yeah can tomorrow night... was just about to try and log them when the wife's laptop died on the passenger seat.

Got a fuel filter to change this weekend and see if that has any effect. Only changing/doing one thing at a time to try and narrow down the problems one by one. Gonna try and find out info on the FPR and see if thats an avenue to look into.

Not really sure at the moment on what direction to take... any advice would be appreciated.

I'll do the logs tomorrow night and post up ASAP.

See what the other logs come out like first.

Have you cheched your spark plugs? Only about £16 for a new set so that could also be worth a try too.

Yeah I can whip them out and give them a quick check - but they only went in a couple of months back. Although I didn't gap them. Assumed they were right straight out of the box.

Where did you get 4 NGK Platinum plugs for £16?

...been ages since I updated on this issue. I've come to the conclusion that it is heat soak issues. Over the last week the car has been driving a lot better in the cooler conditions. Going to VAG-COM when I get a chance (...meaga business in general).

Ordered a FMIC cooler of eBay yesterday evening - would like to go Forge (etc) but don't have the funds. So I'll aim to get that fitted by the end of August.

New logs - think I might of sort it...?

Ok... I never got round to fitting the FMIC in the summer for one reason or another but i think that it was only half the problem - my PCV spider of pipes was totally knacked.

I've removed this and now have a catch tank... the car has never run so well and if I've understood my logs correctly they appear to agree.

Much better now, Jason. Boost is spot on, MAF could be a little higher (5-10g/s), fueling is fine and the cf's have come right down.

I'd still like to get the cf's down a little more though.

The TIP will smooth airflow out, deffo worth doing.

As James said, check your plugs out.

What fuel are you using?

A large open cone filter will help gain a few g/s.

I'll be doing the TIP weekend are next hopefully...

Always Tesco 99 unless I'm caught out and then its Super only - APR map was for 98ron.

Changed the fuel filter and plugs in the summer - but the running issues could of knacked the plugs; stick with the NKG's or go for cooler ones?

Will start looking into open cone - fancy a bit more DV noise anyway...

Ths tip + cone filter

After hours out in the cold my hard work has been rewarded with... more CF's and no more g/s!!! [:@]

My intake temps where higher on a cooler day so I can only assume it was the open cone drawing in warm air. Couldn't try the air-box again because the THS TIP is a cr@p fit and is pver an inch short by the MAF.

Its not too bad, Jason. I wouldn't expect any more g/s after fitting a TIP, just smoother airflow.

Have you tryed using another fuel just to ruel it out?

I've also fitted the Ripspeed open cone so I was expecting more g/s. I had no choice but to fit the cone filter as the THS TIP was to short. It sounds nice but just a bit gutted after spending time in the cold.

I've re-aligned the TB this afternoon and will but some 99 in tomorrow (running 97 last week).

The only upside I can see at the moment is requested Vs. actual appears to be stronger in the mid range.

The first lambda reading is actual and the second is requested (opposite way round to block 115 for some reason).

Block 031 is very similar to last time.
Block 115 looks slightly stronger.
Block 118 is showing higher temps all the way up.
Block 032 run O2 is also lower - could the be due to the TB before I reset it or because I'm using 97 instead of 99?

I did manage one 3rd gear run that gave a 169 on the g/s.
