i didn't use the 45degree reducing bend.

the reason for is that the air comes out of the intercooler through a 51mm outlet then if you put in the reducer it will take it up to 63mm.

the air is then forced through the neck of the plastic pipe that the map sensor is on which is smaller than 63mm so thaer is 3 changes in pipework size in the space of about 2 foot .

i know that colder air needs a larger diameter pipe for the same amount of air which is hot.

but the way i see it is that when it comes out of the outlet of the fmic its passing through a 51mm pipe so i kept 51mm right up to the plastic pipe that the map sensor is on.

i used a 45degree 51mm........from the outlet of the intercooler
on the plastic pipe i replaced the OE hose with a 90 degree reducer 60mm-51

in between them i have 1 stainless steel 120 degree bend as its hard as hell to conncet the two hoses up without squashing the one on the plastic pipe.

if you undo the bolt that holds the plastic pipe in place it makes it alot easier as you can move it around a bit
the pics are not the best but might help you

could you not just connect the two hoses up by moving the one on the plastic oe poart and then fitting a hose jointer between the two or dont they meet up. If it can be done this way i'll order them up now.

yes you can join it that way i just put the stainless bend in so that the air had as smooth as path as i could make it

so if i order a 63-51mm reducing 90 and a 51mm 45 with a 51mm hose jointer it will work.

NO 63MM IS TOO BIG

mine was 58mm-51 90 degree reducer but that was a bit too tight if i was doing it again then i would order one of these

http://www.forgemotorsport.co.uk/content.asp?inc=product&cat=0022R&product=FMR60-51

also order 51mm 45 degree hose + hose joiner and it will connect up ok.

only thing i would say is that if you take out the bolt that holds the plastic pipe with the map sensor on it. You can move it around a bit which helps to connect them up. :D
