THESE DONT WORK!!!

Sorry folks... disappointing news. they worked fine while the engine was off and i turned the engine on for a breif moment too, just to be sure.

But...

When i went for a drive tonight, i found that having the car running for about a minute was enough for the car to cut the power to both sidelights! needless to say im rather annoyed.

Hope i haven't cost anyone else the same £24.04, shouldn't have been so quick to post that they were a solution to the hateful problem that is SEAT's electrical system. i may try and find somebody who has the VAGCOM software and hopefully will be able to remove the "bulb out" feature completely!

its not a Seat problem its the way Can bus works, all VAG cars, BMWs and new cars all are moving over to this type of feature. most really new cars are fitted with LEDs as standard. dont think VAGCOM on the can bus system will allow you to remove the bulb broken feature.

fitting resistors is the only way around this. even the PIAA ones have resistors fitted.

Really? are they fitted within the actual bulb unit as i thought they were completely plug and play...? I have tried fitting a resistor at one side of the car for previous LED's and this didnt work either... im getting really fed up with it, its a completely unnecessary feature!!

you need the right size resistor. You can get some from maplins.

PIAA have in-line resistors, yes they are "plug an play" but these still have resistors.

What do you think the round bit is in the middle?
