Knocking noise when accelerating/braking

My 8v has just started doing this, sort of a loudish knocking noise. Its not the top mount (I think) any other suggestions before I go out and buy every part for the driver's side front suspension/steering assembly

could be cv joints ? do you get any rubbery kind of noises as well ? could be a wheel bearing too.

Not particularly, have noticed it seems to become more frequent in the wet.

Wheel bearing or possibly the start of an engine mount going.

Rev the engine with the bonnet up and see how much it moves around.

Not the engine, sounds like a joint prehaps sometimes does it when going round a corner
