does the k4 001 work as a bolt on without any fuel changes, if it makes more power than a k03s then surely a slight map change is needed?

I have badger5 ko3 hybrid K300 I think ,mine makes 289 bhp . Will make more with WMI.
Toyo intercooler, 550 injectors, 3 inch custom made Badger5 TIP, Sach paddle Luk clutch set up.
If you wan to keep OEM look its perfect.
If i was to do it again i would go for a straight ko4 hybrid swap , you will have to change water and oil lines and manifold for this but there is more scope for power if you add wmi.

ive been offered a s3 k04 turbo, manifold, charge pipe, oil and water lines and injectors for £450 or
a jabba sport ihi manifold with a vf34 (needs rebuild) oil and water line and a dwn pipe (will need modifying) for £220
witch one shall i go with?

Id try stay with KO3 hybrid, quicker spool and less hassle with DP etc keeping OEM look
Where can I get a used hybrid from then...not looking to buy new...I know im a cheap skate haha gotta look for deal/bargin lol

good luck in finding a 2nd hand one. If one does appear then I wouldn't be too sure about it. What sort of life has it had? What miles has it done?
If it brakes , what is the cost of getting it re built?
Have a word with bill ( badger 5 ) see what he would charge for one .
A saying that I will stick too...... Buy cheap buy twice. Wouldn't go cheap on something like a turbo. If you insist on doing so , then there is some lovely copies on eBay ( china / USA ) . I wouldn't touch them with a barge poll. Save the extra bud.
I was under the impression vf34 'chocolate turbos' weren't rebuildable so if its knackered you'll need a new one
Not sure if the cost of upgrading to a k04 is worth it for the little power gain you'll get
As for trying to get cheap second hand stuff, i'd want to know the history of certain parts well before i'd even think of exchanging a penny

Would a k04-001 with correct pipes etc not produce a very similar power to a Lcr k04. Thinking a k03 and k03s produces similar power. Would this not be the same case ?
Totally agree with 2 nd hand stuff. Unless I knew everything about it with paper work to show it then its a no no from me .

So are we saying but a ko4-02x , change tip and that's it? Similar power to a Lcr ?
From having a evo pushing around 380bhp/380ft lbs and the leon feels a tad slow...I dont want that sort of power but enough to make me smile
Sorry . Think I've mis read your answer. K04- 001 with changed tip will go straight on ? Producing 10-20 bhp more ?
Would this need to be remapped tho to suit? Eg - I have revo stage 1 . Changing turbo to that would that req a custom map
