Yep, so i install the filter first then go to chip tuning right? what about fuel consumption, any effect on that?
I recon so ! I'd even put money on it doing so. Plus I'm going to add one nearly immediately to my 1.2TSI FR as soon as I get it !![]()
Go for it man, it's fairly cheap in the scheme of things too !
just to let you know ben, ours in a pannel filter![]()
1.2 TSI FR
How come you still Dnt have a delivery date lol want mine ?
Do you think a K&N filter will do the same? I have a 1.4 SC
with the exception of not having to renew the k and n filter, just what is the advantage of fitting one? i would have thought when the car manufacturers develope a new engine they fit a filter that gives that particular engine optimum performance.
Nope - they fit the cheapest filter that will not starve the engine.
It's all about keeping cost down.
I don't think that is strictly true!
Although cost will be a factor the OEM filter is designed to give best all round performance and the level of filtration it offers is the key here. If you fit a high flow filter you have to accept the level at which the air is filtered to will be less. Have a read of THIS study it explains the difference between an OEM filter and an aftermarket filter.
All turbocharged engines use the round filter while all non turbo engines use the flat filter.
The FR 2.0TDi is turbocharged and has a flat panel filter
EDIT - I e-mailed K&N - they do not yet do a panel for the Ibiza FR 2.0TDi
