I felt the same when I got my car, albeit it is a lease it was still via a small (unheard of) company and it all felt a bit dodgy because the deal was so good in comparison to others. They made me put my deposit down and proof of insurance etc before I'd even lay eyes on the car (I don't know if this is normal?) and they didn't really give me any proof or updates about the transaction until one day they called and said it's on it's way in a weeks time.

It was immaculate and completely what I expected of course, just found the whole process slightly weird but yeah just thought I'd share my experience.

Thanks for the reassurance :)

I feel that if anyone just wants to turn up and pay for a car when they pick it up, then they should really be going to a local dealer and be paying the extra money for that privilege.
I've bought via a broker before and only paid on collection, and with new scams appearing daily you do get a bit paranoid.

That's an almost identical time scale to me,June delivery.I understand that a factory order from a Seat dealer would be a similar time scale.
I agree it seems a bit uneasy using a broker but they get the best prices.I suppose they do this because they put in orders for a lot of cars each month that they lease out and get big discounts so they can tag on some private orders from the likes of us and get the same discount, and they have lower overheads than dealerships.
Cort have been around for a few years now and the guy seemed very plausible over the phone.
I paid £500 deposit by credit card so that should be covered if the worse happens.
What I'm not sure about is how the balance is paid, obviously the seemingly risk free way is to pay the rest on collection, but I think they will want another stage payment,do you know anything about this?

Any update on delivery date yet? I haven't - but since I'm not in a hurry I'm reluctant to chase.

I have owned the 1.4 ecotsi 150 for two months almost. The car is seriously quick. The 0-62 is down at 7.6 in the official documentation but in tests I have done I have this down to almost 7.1 using timing via the odb2 port. It's not just the 0-60 though - the engine has great torque so pulls in most gears from low down. It simply does not compare to the other FR's in the Ibiza range to be honest - it's in a different league performance wise.

I emailed them yesterday and got an immediate reply.(When ordered delivery was estimated late June)
They said they had spoken to the dealer involved and my car was now scheduled for build in week 25 (say around 20June I assume) They said the demand for the 1.4 engine was causing delays (nothing new there). How long it takes after build to arrive in Manchester I don't know, perhaps 2 weeks?
Anyway, things do seem to be proceeding OK but, unless I hear from them before,I'll ask for another update at the end of the month.

How's your delivery going - is the build going ahead? I notice that you can track a VW build - anything similar for SEAT?

No news yet.I'm going to contact them on 1 July,I was last in contact on 1 June, will post the reply on here.
I tried to see if there was any tracking method for Seat but could not find any, obviously the dealers will have one but it seems to be private.Yes,you can track VW and also Skoda,I did that with a Skoda order a few years ago.

Cort phoned today before I could contact them. They said car had been built and delivery scheduled in 3 weeks,i.e. 20 July.
Fingers crossed it all goes OK.

Thanks for the update - they haven't contacted me, so I assume mine isn't yet being built.

Spoke to Cort today and mine (an ST) is in build this week, expected delivery 1st or 2nd week in August (I shall be delaying registration until the new reg on 1st of September).

I shall be very interested in how you like yours seeing that you have a Suzuki Swift Sport. We have a Suzuki Swift Sport too (latest version). In our case we are trying to combine the fun of the Suzuki with the practicality of our other car - a diesel Nissan Note (previous model)- replacing both cars.

It is a bit of a compromise - not as much fun as the Suzuki, I suspect, (though much faster) nor quite as versatile or practical as the Note (but much more fun and vastly quicker). We shall see.

I had a swift sport (62plate) before my ibiza, not the 1.2, but the cupra, and id agree and say the swift was more fun. The ibiza is alot quicker, the DSG quite cool, but the swift felt more fun in the twisties, more planted down. My ibiza feels quite bouncy compared.

Should have said mine (and Oldbutswift if I remember rightly) are both 1.4 Ecotsi Frs not 1.2 despite the thread title.

We have already sold our Swift Sport (14 plate). It was the wife's car, supposed to be a car to keep but we recently got a dog and need a small estate, hence getting the ST FR 1.4.
As long as the wife likes it she can keep it 5 years plus as far as I am concerned.
I think the Ibiza will be a better all round car and a bit faster than the Swift, but that was a nice little car, well equipped as standard with no options to add, good handling and a nice revvy engine. The only poor thing about it was the gearchange was a bit clunky, especially first to second,I'm hoping the change on the Ibiza will be better in that respect.
I'm lucky that I have my own car as well, which is a BMW 3 series, but if the Ibiza ST performs all family duties OKl then I'll probably get something smaller and sportier next year, but don't know what as yet.

Interesting - same (hoped for) solution to a slightly different problem. We need to accommodate four (admittedly small) adults for holidays with a decent amount of luggage.
