hi guy just a couple of questios on my new FR

1. the drive away central locking thing is bugging me now. what it does is when you unlock all doors and then drive away it locks but then when you stop and remove the key it only unlocks the drivers door! is that right or should it unlock all doors?

2. its either i have a porblem with the car or im doing some thin wrong but it doesnt seem to have the pin you in the seat accelaration it had when i test drove it. it still goes well and theres not excessive smoke as far as im aware could this be a split or loose boost pipe?

1. Mine does this too, although occasionally it will open all doors, if you opened them all originally. Seems to depend what mood it's in.

Same as the intermittent wipers; sometimes if you go from a higher-freq to a lower, then it doesn't wipe as you switch (which makes sense) but sometimes it does.......

2. If you are losing enough boost to affect performance that much they you would really no it - my pipe came off the other week and it was awful. Plus you get a heap of smoke when you stick your foot down. You could have a slight leak, but you've probably just got used to the car.

You'll soon develop the habit of quickly reaching for the unlock button before your passengers try and bend the door handle off, because they don't know they have to pull it twice :)

You can turn off the autolocking completely if you wish, via vag-com or your dealer can do it. Personally I think it's a good safety feature to stop anyone jumping in at junctions.
And yes they do unlock in a crash, I tested this the other week :D

Can't remember if/what you can change with regards to selective unlocking, also can't remember if it affects the unlocking when removing the car, or just when unlocking with the remote.

well might try and blag the dealer up as ive only had the car 2weeks, its going back as the front fogs have misted up and theres a few rattles! i guess they can prob check it for the lack of power while its there to? i dont think its me getting used to it as even a friend mentioned it when i gave him a lift just after i got it and then the other day:confused:

When my boost pipe came off there was an absolute ton of thick black smoke when you gave it some beans. I guess it's because the MAF measures the quantity of air going in & the ecu sets the fuelling up for it. Then most of the air gets lost out of the pipe, so the car is overfuelled.........

Although saying that, when they replaced the pipe the mechanic reckoned that the original clip was the wrong one. Since having it changed my car doesn't smoke at all - even at night when flooring it away from someoone, the headlights used to show up the smoke, but now there's nowt.
So perhaps mine was leaking a little bit all the time, but I have noticed no performance gain so it couldn't have been a significant leak.

Full tank to just off red will be fairly noticeable. Let yours go down and you will see its a tad nippier, full tank just takes the edge off it. That is what I have found anyhow

i dont think so in the facelifted models to be honest... and i think the fuller the tank of fuel the faster it goes well it does for me.... try some millers and higher octane diesel and u will notice the extra bit of power :)

it shouldnt need millers yet should it? its done less then 2k! i would use high octane diesel but none of my local petrol staions sell it, i only really have esso staions near me and they only do regular diesel :(

millers for the extra power and to keep the engine clean... muddy it just feels like that in mine or i plant my foot a little more after i fill up as it deffinally feels alot quicker.. plus turning the egr valve off makes it alot easier to drive and also feels quicker to.. :)
