Right, where do I start?
Fitted the fogs, just need bulbs

Added new fan washers, this is how to modify them to fit.

File them a little so they aren't so fat. Cheers LEE!

Fitted, also ordered 200mm length of 80mm blue silicone for the pipe that attaches the TIP to the MAF, pictured here with the spray jut in it too.

1 of the old ball joints out, I did both but didn't take photos of both.

New

New Pagid front pads, amen to these no horrible squealing :D very happy!

JOM out to split the unit down and tighten the lock nut, although there was no play and the lock nut only very slightly moved with a few gert big smashes on the punch and hammer....

Took these badboys out, and there is a noticeable difference to both steering and front end stiffness.

Fitted these, although I can't remember if I got cupra r ones or fr ones....

Also, centred my FARB and fitted a new tie rod end, so the n/s/f toes out quite badly, so straight to Hi-Q on Monday for tracking and fitting of these babbers :)

Good day overall, fixed some issues, and now she'll be left fully serviceable whilst I'm I Oman. Can't wait already to come home and drive her, even though I haven't gone yet haha.
Edit - She's also in with Bill for the proper Badger treatment a week Monday!

WOW!! The tyres and tracking have made here a totally different machine! It's not too bad of a ride considering the tyres have gone from 225/40/18 to 215/35/18's. The only downside is that the arches aren't filled, and she's a bit lower. Next time will be 215/40/18's because it stops the scrub on the back!
Got the Porsche caps on as well, and I'm only working until 1130 tomorrow so might give her another clean and get some photos :) Oh, and I'd recommend these pads to anyone, such a difference to the economy pads previously fitted.

you got new wheels again ?

No, took the tyres off the other alloys in the pics and put them on the LCR alloys.

Porsche caps

The tyres, I'm not really a fan of how they fit, and I absolutely ruined the splitter earlier, and I've got to put a screw back in the bumper.... the one side of the bumper is sitting a little far out.

More silicone.... and engine cap

a little bodge we did on a mates car, because he has a spare and also on a rubbish naval wage like me lol

Bad move on the lower profile tyres IMO, I has 225/35 on my wheels, handled really well but the car had to be far too low to fill the arch kept damaging the car. Rolling radius was smaller then the standard 17" wheel.

On the 225/40 I could raise the car had more clearance and the suspension was better.

Great progress as always mate! Ordered the same washer jets as you today, hate those piddly twin-jet things on there at the mo :p

How do you find the ride with the standard top mounts back in? Thinking my Powerflex might be a little over-kill on a fast-road daily.

cars looking really good mate, love it.... what washer jets have you put on ? also silly question but whats the difference just better spray ?.

His put mist washers on so the spray covers the complete windscreen. The old style ones just spray 2 streaks then rely on the wipers to spread the screen wash

The ride seems a little bouncier on the m5 this afternoon, but that's it.
Cheers :), No more progress for 3 months though! She's getting sorned!!

Don't think she'll be getting the final map before I go now :( probably going to have to let bill down :/ going through stages of having boost, then having no boost what so ever.... I'm going to change the tip to map pipe back to normal, and after a bit of reading, I'm going to change all the vac lines and try and clean out the n75/ replace it if the clean removes the problem! I'm hoping the n75 will clean up with a bit of wd40 and brake cleaner, and that its my own fault not filtering the air to the vacuum pipe that fits to oem air box!

how long before you go away now mate ?

Early next week. She is fixed but took all day yesterday, replaced about 70% of the vac lines, and got a new n75 in! Didn't get mapped and I let Bill down! The problem was a mixture of 3 things I think, the n75 was biff, as it brought the fault up straight away when I tried the old one, the wiring had chafed a bit on the heatshield, hence the open or ground boost control valve problem and the vac lines were dodgy.... So spent time re wiring and protecting, changing vac lines (s3 strut brace always in the way whatever I do!!!!) and changing the n75.... Hopefully she's done until I go now!

I've put the std air box back on now, so the vacuum is actually properly filtered, ill get a picture tomorrow. Obviously it's drilled so I get the noise, and I'm going to get some blue 8mm vac line to do the rest.

Coincidence that they're the same colour as the car? (Sort of) haha

Whilst I'm away, my brother will be using the car as he sold his mkv gti a while back and bought a banger 6n2 1.0 lol, so she'll be in the only hands I'd really trust her in, and I don't have to sorn it!
