FFS!!!!!! I will have to try and change the plugs tomorrow, can't boot it now without getting the missfire and seeing the damn management light!!!!! Again tonight and last night!
I spoke to Seat customer services today and explained what had happened and said that it was a joke that the plugs needed replacing after only doing 9900 miles and even more disgusted that they weren't covered under the warranty. They said that plugs are classed the same as brakes and clutches and thus only have a 6 month /6000 mile warranty. This was also printed nicely on my invoice for the replacements. The person i spoke to did say that she would speak to dealers to see if they would write off the labour involved and come back later in the day and she was as reliable as the spark plugs....
Before i rang Seat i thought i would just give VW a call to see what there stance on spark plugs was and there policy is exactly the same. Whether this is a new policy under the warranty agreement (or not in this case) on spark plugs who knows?
All in all it sounds like the VAG Group don't have much hope for the reliability of the components they use!!
mate whoever you are listening to is taliking crap , worst thing is you believed them and forked out
if your car is under warranty and your plugs have failed then its covered under your warranty , in the leon they are supposed to last 40k miles and i have been through 3 sets from failing in 3 years and 50k+ miles all covered under warranty.
I ordered all the service parts today but will get the guys at awesome to fit the plugs on Saturday when they are doing stage 2. Last thing i need is frikken misfires while trying to enjoy my new exhaust and map hehehehehehehe
Just happened to me with the new boc.... Not happy!
Splinter, have you just had the engine management light aswell?? Oh dear Im getting seriously worried now lol it seems to be happening to everyone! Could it be something to do with the Revo map?
I'm fairly convinced that it's an engine issue, not a map issue.
