Just trying to gain balance on in some respects a less than friendly jabba environment. I have heard bad things about all the tuners apart from stealth. I have heard negative things about Jabba, Custom code Jbs, Revo, upsolute, amd.

So its pay your money and take your chance. If i was to repeat everything i hear or get told there would be a lot of unhappy people/tuners.

As for Jabba they have always delivered the car at the last minute repaired. And always just within there given timescale. It can be frustrating at times and i tell them the same.

You are a strange guy Gary

Hearing things (rumour mill) vs experiencing for yourself... are 2 VERY different things.

you should be on their payroll... LOL ;) :p

booked in for jabba sport soon for re-map just wondered if there was anything i could do before hand so i could get maximum output? how is jabba sport in comparison to the others REVO Apr etc? thanks

Here was the question Bill. I am entitled to my opinion. The question was basically " what can i do/should i do before hand" i answered " check levels etc".

The next part was "How does a jabba remap compare to the others Revo etc"
This is subjective and down to how good a job you think your mappers have done. I think and have said i like jabba remaps and think they have done a good job of mapping my car. I think Jabbasport on numbers and results have proven to be the best mappers of the 1.8T engine. If people disagree then thats fine i have my opinion others have theres.

My experience of jabba mapping has been nothing but good.

"you should be on their payroll... LOL "

" I aint" But it would come in handy. The guy was simply asking what jabba maps are like i gave my answer, as for how good there coffee is or any other issue of jabba work it was not in the question. And even if i had a bad dealing with jabba i would not post it to a public forum, i would speak to them. I have said and i wont and would not enter into a public slagging of my tuning company on a public forum. What others do is down to them. I hope this explains my position.:)

Not proven to be THE best, now 'just' one of the best?
You now seem to be talking a little more sense ;)

For you Adam, proximity is close, so yea, go for it.
plenty of happy customers have their remaps done @ JS. Usually a smooth sustained power delivery.

For basic remap I doubt you will be dissapointed in the end result.
Most maps perform similarly and give nice smiles when you drive it afterwards.

Prep wise... as said by the others, make sure oil level is ok, water level, clean airfilter (preferably a performance one) and if you have any known running issues, tell them before so save wasting time fault finding when they should be remapping. You DONT want a rushed map caused by other problems & delays.

Run the tyres at your usual pressure, checking they are both the same.

Good luck

In my personal opinion, I have had APR, Revo and Jabba, and Im now on my second Jabba map but we have taken two cars there, and both have been spot on, both myself and Adam are due back there in a few weeks for a tune up as we have both sorted some issues and made some slight mods so maps are to be tweaked (and finished in adams case) I wouldn't recomend anyone else.

When it comes down to it, Jabba have prolly custom mapped more cars than anyone else on the vag scene in the UK and their experience and length of business is unrivalled. Some mapping companies are newer and less proven but still have happy customers non the less. One thing with Jabba is from browsing the forums they will have the most consistent results through cars/ranges/rollers

Dont get caught up in any politics, some people have switched allegences i.e. preeched one then switched to another, some are biased through sponsership/deals/relationships etc.... Some have had bad experiences but its 1 in a hundred for example

MAke your own choice based in whats best for you, Dont get hung up on peak numbers/figures. Think about reliability, driving experience, cost, locality, reputation, time in business and what you want & realisticly expect. Either way you wont be unhappy as they all increase performance and driving enjoyment whcih is your ultimate goal

dont waste time with other tuners Mike trueluck's (jabba's) experience in my opinion is top notch! i've wasted thousands on maps and Jabba have come out on top!

There isn't a tuner in the U.K. that has mapped more 1.8vt's. Jabba's development has pushed the came on further than anybody else.

Not only the best but the cheapest.

some of us know a lot more than you "think" you know & have significant experience of such things & are far more qualified to comment on how it REALLY is.
