Seat Ibiza FR Sport 2019 - ECP Light was on, now engine light.

Me and my dad recently bought a 2019 Seat Ibiza FR Sport on Friday 31st of May this year, in which we test drove it and drove it back home (2 hour ish drive with stopping and starting) and since then hasn’t been touched as I’m waiting for my insurance to start. About an hour ago we cleaned the car and turned the ignition on, in which the ECP Light came on (No lights came on or anything of concern during the test drive and drive home). We went back inside to figure what it meant, and then we came back outside and turned it back on, in which the ECP light was no longer lit, and now the Engine light is on, it is a steady light, not blinking or anything like that. We’re wondering what it could be and how we could fix it. This is my first post using this forum, any help would be greatly appreciated, Thank You!

No doubt it's just simple battery voltage low.

Thank you for your reply! What does this mean? And Would it be okay to still drive in this condition and also do you have any tips on how to fix this? Many thanks.
Could give it a good drive out 30+miles try and boost the battery back up, charge battery. You could do with a scan tool to check and erase codes.

If it's just low voltage then driving the car will charge it, but really need to buy a obd2 reader to check the codes. They are fairly cheap on amazon etc

So we have one of those readers, and it turns out it’s a P0017 code, which is a “CAM/CRANSHAFT POS. CORRELATION SENSOR B - BANK 1”
Any ideas on the next steps we should take? Many thanks once again.

Well a bad battery could cause all sorts of codes, so it gets it charged and checked if it's good first. Erase codes and recheck after road test. Correlation usually means a bad timing belt but could be sensor issues.

Did you buy the car from a dealer or a private sale? If it was a dealer then i'd take it straight back, if it was a private sale then unfortunately not much you can do. You would have to take it to a VAG specialist and see what they say.
