introducing my LCR. it had only 59000 miles on it and a stage 1 re map. ( the only picture i have of it in its original form)

this is the LCR in its current state.

My plans for my LCR were to keep it standard, but after the rods failed i've slowly started upgrading the parts that have failed.

Hope you enjoy my progress, pictures and updates. leave feedback good or bad.

After i had sprayed the brembos cadbury purple i kind of missed the red that popped out of the wheels so eventually i went back and sprayed them red.

Gave the engine bay a valet and put on my forge 007p DV and K&N open cone. additionally taking off the sound proofing from the bonnet so i could her my DV better.

This past weekend ive treated it to a full service, new pads and discs, castrol 5w40 fully sycn. i then had it booked for MOT but before it got there my window regulator failed along with the locking mechanism. £340 later my door is working again :(

Good to see I'm not the only one going from a fr tdi to an LCR. I love those wheels on the tdi, r32 aren't they? There is a dude on here with a red LCR and he uses r32 wheels for his winters. What are your plans for the LCR? Looks a very nice example, similar mileage to mine too.

ni havent got big plans for it as it is my daily drive and saving for a house but, i'll be adding a few little touches. Looking to purchase a number plate like yours 3/4 size. Also new tyres, turbo gauge, TIP (sfs or forge), repair rear bumper after someone reversed in to me the other day in tesco and drove off:cry:... and take lots of snaps with my canon 700d . :)

N249 bypass and boost gauge installation

This is the first time i'm attempting both jobs but with help from the guides i got it done. I know it's been covered a lot but thought i'd record my version.

This is how my engine bay looked to begin. Very standard looking...

step 1. Cut pipe on top of DV.

Step 2. Disconnet the two pipes from the N249 as shown on the pic below. i'll be joining the pipe that came off the white T piece directly to the DV.

Step 3. Grab your 4mm silicone pipe and connect the smaller pipe you took from the N249 to the DV. Ignore the fact i had my boost gauge added in. i was testing it,

That is the N249 bypass done. I've read that you should not cap the hose connectors left open; apparently it'll have adverse effects.

I did cut the hose down a little and also moved the T piece for my boost gauge DV side...

I've not driven or it hard enough to discover any benefits as yet due to the wet conditions. People have said you can feel better response, a little louder DV noise and in some cases extra BHP.:)

Managed to get the time to spray part of the grille that i didnt appreciate being silver..

Not sure whether to carbon wrap the S badge. either that or spray it matt black orrrr just keep it silver ? lol i think idle spray cans are the devil. makes you look for things to spray!

Also fitted the 6k HIDs. Which i'm fairly happy with.

Got the white number plate bulbs too, which i've had a nightmare with. They keep blowing for some reason so the ebay seller sent me a pack of 10 for free :)

diadem indicator bulbs all round...

the car looking clean and sparkly. which is rare with this bad weather.

Also some food for thought, I looked at an LCR with the same colour co-ordination as yours, it also had carbon wrapped S badges and carbon wrapped mirrors an it looked insane. I would like to do it to mine but I thought think the carbon would suit as much.

thanks for your feedback, definately thinking about the carbon wrap badges. i've done it on both my previous ibiza and leon and looked good. Just didnt want the LCR to look 'tacky'. Hopefully the carbon will suit this too..

i enjoyed your other two threads so thought i would post in this thread too especially as the car looks so good.
that number plate almost looks personalised not that it really reads anything though.

Thanks mate, appreciate your kind words. i actually dislike my Reg quite a lot. i think it's quite an ugly arrangement of letters and numbers , despite how weird that sounds ! i've asked for some 3/4 sized number plates for xmas. Hoping it will improve this issue .

You got a clean example there. It's all in the details IMO, this is what can make a car stand out from the rest, no need to go over the top with the LCR they look good straight out of the box.

Keep the updates comin.

Thanks, and I agree. That's why in unsure whether to fiddle with the badges as it looks alright as is. Maybe Photoshop will help.

Bidding on a Forge TIP and looking for decent 10mm spacers for the front right now .. That and tyres . Need a bit of inspiration after that

Quick update, just received my gauge pod. I've also ordered a obd wifi sender for a cool iphone app of which I'll review (thanks mjstokes85 for the inspiration ). Also ordered wheel centre caps .

I downloaded a fish eye app , thinks it's pretty cool . Check it out.

Excellent! You can't really go wrong with the obd sender for the price! Also new centre caps are always good, I replaced mine when I got the car, they make a real difference!

Spent the best part of today do little bits and bobs to the car. I fixed the boot light as it had snapped, replaced the bulb for an LED jobbie. Looks smart.

Also My shinny new wheel centre caps arrived today and the OBD port sender arrived too.

Got a few apps running that work with it. Need some time to fiddle around but so far very impressed with the information transferred to the phone. Only problem is that the boost doesn't seem to be updating when I'm driving along.

Wheel caps...

Fixed the gauge in to place..

Also spent a few hours waxing the car as it happened to be decent weather.

Not sure this picture gives it justice. We are missing the sun!
