Sorry Pabs, I totally disagree with that. There's loads of evidence to suggest that an IC in front of your rad, no matter what size, makes bugger all difference to water temps.

Well if you can think of another reason why some of us with intercoolers (and not all the same one) suffer with the weird temp problem, please let me know!

Doesn't happen unless the intercooler is there - so obviously it DOES make a difference - at least to some cars.

Weejase, do you reckon you would be able to get hold of these hose kits once you have sourced the ones for yours and then distribute accordingly??

If the guys on Cupra net need a good price on intercoolers just PM me and you will be looked after ..... Whilst there are some good products on e bay ( and I know you are going to say " well he would say that wouldnt he " )

Be very carefull of what you buy , from what I can see this is a generic Chinese core, the internal core design has no air turbulaters ( this is spiral internal fin design ) that allows the air to be moved and cooled efficiently , all the ebay cores that we have seen here are basically staight through square shapped boxes , offer no cooling what so ever , the fact its vacuum brazed counts for nothing if the air shoots straight through , during long testing proceedures , with cores of this type , we actually saw inlet temps increase over the stock factory side mounted inteecooler . and pressure drop of 5 psi + , when we developed the Forge FMICs we tested over 5 types of air core before settling on the design we now use ..

Its really up to you , the choice of a researched , tested , guaranteed for life product , or ..................................... ,
I would even suggest that the Laguna mod would be a better option than this type of intercooler . just my thoughts

What would be fantastic is if somebody went for this FMIC and we could get it on a rolling road next to another car of the same type with one of the more expensive FMIC's, be it Forge or anybody else.

Obviously the two cars would need to be the same type - i.e. 2 LC's or LCR's - and have the same mods' - i.e. not pitting a remapped car against a standard one.

On the same rollers on the same day with the same operator I think this would be as close to a fair test as you'll get without using two FMIC's on the same car.

yeh sounds like a good idea, just wish the prices for a Forge or any other were more affordable :(

Don't i feel stupid now, I suppose f it were that easy (get a radiator and blow air through it) we would all have one already for £50 LOL

The forge kit (the only one I have seen) does look good but the £££££'s never mind will just have to wait until santa ha space in his sack (or til autosport 08 LOL)

Any one tought about any other cars intercooler going into a LCR (lancer or something)

as mentioned above mate, the Renault Laguna intercooler is another common option. But as to who has fitted one, I don't know.

APR, Neuspeed, Forge and Pace are the only ones i can think of - and I only know of people with Forge (majority) and Pace (one or two).

Import if you like and enjoy the "landed price" with carriage/vat and duty applied along with handling fee from carrier. soon nibbles away the savings you thought you were getting.

I don't think that was the point to the post though, was it? The point was the fact that the UK price is so damn high in the first place when there seems to be no reason for it being that high, especially compare to US prices.

I'll bet that Forge sell a number of FMICs at full retail price - and good for them - that's business. I think they know their market.

They are a company however that will offer group buys and special deals to the like of SeatCupra.net. There's plenty of evidence on here of that, and of their preparedness to do individual prices if people ask.....
