In my case, its something i enjoy doing as a form of relaxation from work etc.. and it gives an enormous sense of well being.........
No, I realise that, but say a near mint 8v is worth what say 1500? 2k tops?
So what would you give for an accident repaired/write off? half that? 1k tops?
Obviously I dont know what the car was bought for, or the extent of the damage, or how much its cost to repair and return to the road, but I cant imagine you would save that much.
I can understand repairing a car that is quite rare, or of a decent value so that you would be making a saving overall, but surely you would be better off just buying a straight example of an Ibiza to start with?
Not having a go, or being sarky, its just that I dont get why you would bother, assuming that there are no obvious benefits?
you do 'need to do it' to understand.. I know EXACTLY what your saying about the 'VIC' check, hayz, the nod and the affirmative "yes, its Passed"... its a wicked feeling knowing that what youve succeeded in doing has actually been worthwhileI done it as it was a cheap 2nd car, and a bloody good one. It cost about £1400 for the car all the parts, paint and pretty much everything.
It was a good project, I enjoyed it and it feels more like my car as I have put alot of effort into it. And to see it pass the MOT and VIC check was fantastic.
You really have to try it to understand it.
