No, I realise that, but say a near mint 8v is worth what say 1500? 2k tops?

So what would you give for an accident repaired/write off? half that? 1k tops?

Obviously I dont know what the car was bought for, or the extent of the damage, or how much its cost to repair and return to the road, but I cant imagine you would save that much.

I can understand repairing a car that is quite rare, or of a decent value so that you would be making a saving overall, but surely you would be better off just buying a straight example of an Ibiza to start with?

Not having a go, or being sarky, its just that I dont get why you would bother, assuming that there are no obvious benefits?

I done it as it was a cheap 2nd car, and a bloody good one. It cost about £1400 for the car all the parts, paint and pretty much everything.

It was a good project, I enjoyed it and it feels more like my car as I have put alot of effort into it. And to see it pass the MOT and VIC check was fantastic.

You really have to try it to understand it.

you do 'need to do it' to understand.. I know EXACTLY what your saying about the 'VIC' check, hayz, the nod and the affirmative "yes, its Passed"... its a wicked feeling knowing that what youve succeeded in doing has actually been worthwhile

The passenger side wing was mashed aswell. Like a whole new wing needed and needed a new windscreen. And the slam panel bumper bar bit :) oh and lights and fog lights (which are still missing) but thats it lol

84rney, will probably see me about, I don't really go out much at the moment as funds don't permit. Normally drive backwards and forwards to work to Fareham everyday.

And If I out I'll be at Kermal's the Burger Van opposite IBM

Erm not as such,

I bought the car looking like it did up the top, I also got all of the parts I needed with it (bonnet, Grille, Headlights, Bumper and N/S wing).

All of that has been painted, I also had the O/S wing resprayed as well as both doors and the rear bumper (that has the black strip across the bottom smoothed in and painted). And I also had the side skirts painted too.

The front bumper has had the original splitter smoothed in and also the additional splitter from a Leon Cupra R added onto the bottom and smoothed in.

It had the windscreen replaced and the rear O/S window too as that was all smashed.

I have bought a de-badged grille, as I wanted rid of the SEAT badge but wanted to keep the GTi badge.

Thats it really - It's pretty standerd.

I hope that's what you meant lol

Thanks Seatdude.

84RNEY - The price of filler :) We done it our selves :D Nice and cheap a?

If you need anyone to respray any bits for you then PM me and I'll pass you over the number of the dude that done mine. Him and my other half done the smoothing, I helped a little by sanding it down.
