Yes!!

As many of you know over the last few months I have been rebuilding a Cupra GTi 8v.

And last week it had its MOT and passed with flying colours.

And today it had its VIC check, passed that too. So now its all taxed. And ready for a drive.

xx

:D :D

Walked the Mot.. now for the sale. im intrested in these 2L 8v Gti's factory claimed figures of 115bhp but with mileage they seem to produce around 120..They must mature like a fine wine and get better with age :p

my mates 8v hit 124bhp on the rollers at the wheels, totally standard except filter, so it can be done, SEAT always undermine their figures to keep the insurance groups down. :D

Congratulations, you must be over the moon!

One thing, now that the Mk2 Ibiza's are worth so little, have youfound much of a financial benefit to putting a knacker back on the road, taking into account all the repair costs, testing etc, or have you done it more as a project for fun?

No, I realise that, but say a near mint 8v is worth what say 1500? 2k tops?

So what would you give for an accident repaired/write off? half that? 1k tops?

Obviously I dont know what the car was bought for, or the extent of the damage, or how much its cost to repair and return to the road, but I cant imagine you would save that much.

I can understand repairing a car that is quite rare, or of a decent value so that you would be making a saving overall, but surely you would be better off just buying a straight example of an Ibiza to start with?

Not having a go, or being sarky, its just that I dont get why you would bother, assuming that there are no obvious benefits?
