I have a discussion with my friend.
My feeling is that the DSG7 with the 1.5tsi (and maybe other engines) feathers the clutches in some way, or has a less transient tuning for the acceleration than the manual.
In the manual version with 1.5tsi I seem to remember the car being very sharp to accelerate if you quickly press the pedal hard, giving a feeling similar to whiplash. My DSG does not do this, it's much softer when you quickly depress the pedal. The DSG will a bit more smoothly apply the power, whereas the manual will throw you back in your seat a bit more.
Said in another way, the DSG does not allow for accelerating in a stuttery way, and I do believe the manual does allow this.
Does anyone have recent experience with both manual and DSG who can confirm or deny?
