corsa and astra vxr's seam to be able to safely run 300bhp from a ko4 dunno if thats effectively a hybrid on them from standard tho?
I thought the VXR's only mapped to around 280bhp?

Easy option is nos! You could get 300bhp from a k04 but it wouldn’t last 5 min as it would be bodged to the eye balls with bleed valves and a funky map. Also to be honest the difference between 280 and 300 on the road is sod all, its only pub bragging rights.
Was you after getting your car to 300 or just want it quicker? If you want it quicker rather than figure related look at things like semi slick tyres, WMI, better mounts or shedding some of the LCR’s chunk
well a map may only get 280bhp but if you add fmic or whatever you can get 300bhp out of the ko4
obv this is a youtube video, could be optimistic rollers and this may be a hybrid etc etc but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHSimG1LowI
dunno much about the astras but i know of a guy running 290odd with a standard k04 on his

There is a 2 litre engine there, maybe thats why.
That is 1.6l lol!
Just to confirm - am I right in saying that a hybrid turbo is effectively one with an oversized compressor bolted on?
Rob.
Ah, well I can't imagine that vauxhall go to this effort on the astra vxr.
I think the reason that vxr's, st's, golf ed30's etc. map to higher power than the lcr must just be down to the larger displacement of the engine...
that figure on JBS rollers explains it all then
they are always some what optimistic
i agree with what has been said, exactly jamiebennet81. And front mount intercooler as said doesnt instantly add bhp, it just allows for cooler air and less heat soak, better air flow and maybe hold boost a bit better. Cant really trust any of the rolling road/dyno's they can just be set up and messed with to produce different figures and no idea how accurate they are.. somebody told me the other week they dyno'd standard 225 lcr and the rollers were accurate because one came out 224 and other 226, well i always thought they were 222 bhp anyway so that was a load of made up crap to get you to think " this is an accurate dyno we wont lie about your remap figures".
in most cases the difference between a few bhp and figures arnt how the car feels to drive or puts the power down on the road. a car with less bhp could feel mor driveable and get the power down better than the higher bhp one with rubbish tyres that just keeps spinning.
cost for a hybrid K04 ?
