interior door handle broke

if it's rattling at the bootom it could well be the opener cable,,, costs a few quids only but pay attention when fitting it to the door lock mechanism cos it's easy to screw up things there,,, mine was refitted badly and now the keylock doesn't work anymore, I can open the door only with the remote,,,

Pretty much what has happened to mine, although, a little different

Replaced the cable, then afterwards opening the door with the external handle was a bit tight, but worked NP from the inside.

Now it won't open from the inside or out, but the door will lock and unlock NP.

Any ideas?

well, my prob was different, you just need to take off the door card [there's a guide on the main site, not the forums] and see what's wrong,,,

Thanks foe the guide it has been helpfulas i thought it was the handle but was able to establish its the cable

Is the cable hard to replace?

I have searched but cant find a guide for replacing cable. Anyone any idea as my cable is coming today

No idea but what I'd simply do would be taking off the door card and see how the old cable is mounted then start from there.

Ok ive fitted the new cable (which was a pain in the arse) i had to remove the lock and refit it

The problem is now my drivers door wont lock, all the other doors lock using the button on the key, and the interior central locking button dosnt work

Urgent help would be appreciated as my car will be sitting on the street unlocked!

My cable snapped and I got the mechanic to fit a new one [he broke it in the first place]. My driver's door didn't lock with the key after that [but worked with the remote]. I remember that I once was at the bodyshop and I also had this issue solved: had to buy a new door handle because a part inside had snapped. A bodyshop should be able to fix this for a few quids.
