Hi all,

Advice needed, today I changed the rocker gasket on my mk1 leon cupra r.

I noticed there was lot of oil in the spark plugs, hopefully this will be sorted after the gasket change but also noticed that the intake pipe had loads of oil in it (dripping when removed)

I also noticed alot of my hoses have split or very soft.

Can someone recommend where I can get replacement rubber pipes pics attached?

Why have I got oil in my intake and what can I do to prevent this?

Thanks

You have oil in your intake because the top of your engine breathes oil vapour from the rocker cover into the air intake.

You can prevent this by installing an oil catch tank

Creations Motorsport and Forge sell a lot of the pipes.

Have you checked the PCV pipes under the dipstick metal plate? Splits in them can cause blockages of oil gunge. A catch can is theoretically a good idea, but a fully functional PCV system is what it's designed to run.
