Hi guys
Lately I'm getting this fault :
Intake air temperature sensor g42
I was looking at the engine from the top and bottom, on the intake manifold and the pipes that goes from the intercooler and I can't see any sensor apart from boost pressure sensor. Does anybody know where this sensor is located or what to do. MAF???
On one of the other forums somebody said that parently boost pressure sensor also measure the temperature, I replaced it but it make things worst, extra fault for boost pressure.

I believe the G42 sensor is built into the MAF sensor. I recently replaced MAF, Booster Pressure Sensor and DPF pressure sensor before tracing the fault to a bad earth. The earth behind the skittle panel under wiper motor and passenger side was damp and buried in leaf mulch. I cleaned it off, cleaned up contact surfaces, greased up and reassembled. Fault cleared and it’s running lovely again.
If you do need to replace the MAF then the £20 ones on eBay seem to work fine.

Hi guys

I would like to ask if any of you have a 1.6 TDI engine loom electrical diagram, G31 and G42 sensor fault
I replaced the sensor but the fault its still there
By what I'm reading on Internet it looks like a earth cable somewhere on the way to ECU is damage, patently you can by a fixing kit in VW

I have good electricians at work and they will be able to fix this for me just need a diagram

Many thanks

@Number12
Yes you right, MAP sensor which is both
G31 and G42
Intake temperature sensor and boost pressure sensor, combined
I replaced it but the fault is still there
Just looking for electrical diagram
What I reed online it's a common problem and it's not a sensor but he cables and you can buy a fixing kit 1KD 971 658, plug and wires just need diagram so I know how to connect it to ECU
