Intake Air Temperature Sensor IAT

Hi guys,

I dont know if this is a daft question, but here it goes......

Did VAG fit IAT's to the tdi pd engine (130bhp Seat Ibiza), or would it be combined within the MAF?

The MAF on my car is a Bosch 0281002461, with just 4 wires to the sensor.

As far as i am aware the 5th (missing) wire would be for the IAT but as this is missing, i presume it is a seperate unit?

Ive had a good look around under the bonnet and i cant find anything resembling IAT

Any ideas??????

when using Vagcom you can specifically log the air intake temperatures...

As Sisson said, but theres no point in measuring it at the MAF on a Turbo'd car as its all about the intercooler.

Ours have charge temperature sensors placed between the intercoooler and inlet manifold. It makes sure the charged air isnt too hot and if so, can slacken the boost settings to bring the temps back down. Its one of the first 10 blocks in VAG COM.
