Roughly between 4 - 7k rpm!
Hi all.

I have used the search but haven't found exactly what i'm looking for. If i am just being thick please inform me.

Anyway, i have recently been experiencing a minor problem with my LCR 225. It has only happened 3 times. About a month apart. It had usually happened after a short 10 mile drive. When i restart me engine once stopped the revs go up to about 2,500 - 3,000 on idle. When i turn the engine off then back on a few times it idles a little less but once on the move it goes back to normal after about a minute. It kinda feels like the accelerator is staying on. If your in gear and let your foot off the accelerator you carry on at the rate of idle! Its kinda weird and as i said only happens very rarely.

Ant clues?

Try realigning the throttle to start with

It's a fly-by-wire throttle and can be reset by opening the car door first thing in the morning, turn the ignition on, don't start the car, leave for about 1-2mins, then start the car.

worth a go

Would be ideal if you could get someone with vag-com to check it out to see if any fault codes have been logged.

Could ask in your 'local area' sub forum.

Cheers

If the throttle is sticky, try putting your foot on the brake pedal as it's in fault condition. The drive-by-wire system prevents throttle activation by cutting down to tick-over if the throttle/brake are depressed together. If this doesn't happen, then it's an engine running fault in the air/fuel department.

Good luck.
