Looks good mate, nice to see such detailed pics too. I`ve been thinking of turboing mine, but may have to go supercharger instead. Or as well! Do you need such a massive intercooler? or could you have a more discreet one? I realize I am risking a public flogging for suggesting this, but you`d have to cut less of the car.

you probably can fit a smaller core in... move the rad back a little, trim the bumper a bit.
Building in some margin in the intercooling is no bad thing.
5psi wont be worrying it, but when they start to crank it up... Woahay!

looks like big rubber is needed up front to cope with the extra weight, maybe get wide track running gear, and f2 wings, im getting carried away here

We are mapping the standard ECU at the mo, gonna get the most we can out of it on standard management as a little experiment.
Will swap to aftermarket management at some point, possibly DTA, more likely MBE

We could have used a smaller cooler - this one was around and wasnt a bad fit.

Problem with the boost pipes is they are only an exact fit for that specific install, different manifold, turbo, different intercooler etc will change em. If theres enough interest then we could use an off the shelf cooler and get them more generic. Probably more interest to mk2 and 3 golfs tbh.

As a side not, you may have noticed the wings have been chopped at the bottom - I've got a facelift front going on it as there was more room for the cooler!

Thanks for the comments - will post more pics and info as it come up....

Yeah the wheels on it are the 17" ones in my sig with 205 rubber - in the first pics i posted a while ago it had smaller 16's on it.
The VR went in complete with all the 5 stud MK3 golf wide track front, sitting 35mm lower too, and also now the quaiff atb should help with grip. Its still a bit of handfull with 5psi, gonna take some taming with more boost... :D

cheers :D

For those that were interested - heres a screen shot of the software we use to map the standard ecu. You can see its not quite as user frendly as aftermarket stuff, but once you work out what it is your looking at its essentially the same:

what are you gonna use this for? drag strip or track...will you be able to get all that power down without it spinnin everywhere...has it got lsd on it now?

Just a road car really, although it will make a few trips to the pod, maybe a few laps round castle coombe too, but mainly built for getting from A to B. Quickly.

It has got LSD - Traction isnt too bad. Obviously you cant boot it without wheelspin, but the power comes in relly nice and smooth so if your nice and progressive with the throttle it gets off the line quick with minimal wheelspin.
