bradders, the comment about the weather conditions is so true lol! Yeah i dont think the standard suspension is the best, its embarassing when you have people in the car and it is squeaking/clunking/rattling/banging. Hopefully i will at some point get some lowering springs on some decent shocks and the ride will be much improved

Not going to spend too much on this car, going to do the aluminium vent surrounds, gear lever surround, cupra handbrake cover, stubby aerial, vinyl behind front registration plate. Simple and tastleful mods. What age are you to have a car like that (Subaru)?

I had the same problem, it turned out to be the top left engine mount, if you give it a tug upwards it will make a metalic noise, it took seat ages to find this on my ibiza they replaced the following list below before they found the engine mount had gone.

- Droplinks
- Top Mounts
- Steering Rack

does anyone elses ibiza make funny noises when going over speed bumps or potholes etc. or are they nice and quiet?

Yep, had the problem for about the last 3 years, took the car back to the dealers where I bought the car, not once but around 30 times (and no i'm not making it up) over 3 years and had loads of parts inspected and replaced (bushes, steering rack, pipework, suspension, ARB to name a few) all to no avail, all I managed to do was be without my car for days on end and have to drive around in a bog basic courtesy car while mine was basically sat there for a few hours while the "mechanics" stood there scratching their heads.

Scott, it has already had new wishbone bushes and the top strut mount bearings replaced

Mine has recently had the wishbone bushes and top mounts replaced and it clunks. The clunk is due to not having an ARB drop link fitted on one side. Since your near me, your welcome to come out in the car and see if its the same clunk. But I'd put money on it being your drop links. I've replaced the passenger drop link twice in 5 years due to it.

Thanks for the update, that's very useful to know. Which one out of interest? The dog bone or one of the other ones?
