ps folks i still got loads of megs stuff for sale, especially some megs #21 polish, + water magnets, microfibres

Still contemplating purchase of a pc, in the meantime I'll continue by hand, I could do with a decent drying towell and a couple of good microfibres which would be suitable for removing wax, and pollish etc. if these are suitable let me know and pm me payment details etc and i'll gladly take some.

cheers

Foam density maybe, most people prefer the DAS pads for some reason.

You can now buy the PC7424 in the UK for £111 including VAT and delivery (transformer extra).

http://www.maxtool.co.uk/index/porter-cable/polishers.asp

yeh sfx is more denser, and is made to be used with the sfx polish range (but can be used with others), and the sfx pads are 6" and the das are 7", both are good really

robdon, are you aware maxtool is not a uk company and if you buy from them you are importing the machine, therefore are possibly liable to pay import duty

also if you buy from autopia using my guide the total at the moment comes to $144, which is £81.59 at todays exchange rate (example from the autopia checkout below), and autopia will go out of the way so you dont have to pay import duty ;-)

Item Name SubTotal

1 Porter Cable 7424 Auto Polisher $119.95

Subtotal: $119.95

Coupon offer (15% savings): -$17.99

Subtotal: $101.96

Shipping: $42.50

Tax: $0.00

Total: $144.46

I'd be interested to know what year your motor is 182 Blue, I have found Mer cleaning products to be top knotch - and I have tried a lot.

Try a cap full of polish in with your (Mer) car shampoo - no need to polish off and gr8 results.

Check their site:

Can somone reccomend anything for wheel cleaning/protection? I'm finding actually cleaning the wheels diffcult and theres always loads of brake dust and crap all in the corners thats started to bond to the wheel even tho i keep it pretty clean.

Gonna place an order through Clean and Shiny soon so if anyone can reccomend antyhing that could help that would be great.

Pro Detailer
P21S wheel gel is good, it's not acidic at all and cleans very good. Once clean get some sealant such as Poorboy's or DP wheel wax, it really helps future cleaning. I spray on Autoglym wheel seal then use PB wheel wax, cleaning is a doddle after that.
