Ok i spent ages doing the front wings and bonnet and there still not great. Loads of big swirls now (fewer but larger ovals) Ive been looking at other swirl removal stuff and was thinking of using the meguires swirl remover #9 i think. Any ideas on what this is like?

yeh sfx 1 is an option, its quite aggresive, the other option is 4" pads with #83 on, I did notice that the ovni paint is quite hard, well compared to my old clio, i also did a porche recently and there paint is mega soft, so it will need working with the aggresive polish, also scratch x is an option

Some one any idea from where I can order the PC, Poorboys etc.? Autopia don't ship to switzerland. Know any from you guys a shop/good address, maybe in UK?

You can order Poorboy's, P21S, Wolfgang, Pinnacle, etc. online from here: http://www.motorgeek.co.uk/

Also Mothers, Pinnacle, Wolfgang, Swissol, etc. here: http://www.allthingscarnauba.com/eShop/Default.asp

Also Mothers, Meguiars, etc. here: http://www.performancemotorcare.com/

I've heard the new Mother's SynWax is pretty awesome stuff.

Soon I'm going to try a full Clearkote detail - I've heard many good things about how wet and deep the finish should be.

1. Wash with CK shampoo, rinse and dry.
2. Vanilla Moose wax by PC.
3. Red Machine Glaze by PC.
4. Yellow Cream Moose wax by PC.
5. Carnuba Moose wax by PC.

Each step is supposed to do something different like the VM should remove swirls etc., the RMG adds depth and reflection, the YCM adds smoothness and slickness and finally the CMW adds wetness and depth to the finish. I'll take pics along the way.

My 4-Star UPP (ultimate paint protection) arrived today, so will give it a go soon - heard nothing but rave reviews about it. Here's my detailing collection so far (minus the wheel cleaning stuff):

so, im a relative noob to car care, stick it in a jetwash and if its lucky a polish once a year.

what would be the best way to go about it for joe bloggs who likes to have his car look nice, but wont spend over £100 on shampoos and waxes and a whole weekend doing it?

anyone want to take up the saul is lazy challenge?

serious post btw, i am interested

Probably an easy one-step cleaner wax, on-off by hand. To name a few would be:

1. Poorboy's polish with carnuba
2. Clearkote Vanilla Moose Wax
3. Meguiars NXT
4. Meguiars Cleaner Wax
5. Zymol Cleaner Wax
6. Klasse All-In-One

Any of these would clean the paint, polish it and leave a small amount of wax. For better weather protection you can do another step and add a wax or sealant. All of the above products are under £20. Spend another £20 on some shampoo, microfibre cloths and wax applicators and you're set.

I got the UPP from a guy in Portugal, I mentioned on the Autopia forums that I wanted some and he offered to send me 3 bottles, so I paid him via PayPal and they arrived 3 days later - no import charges!

General concensus seems to be that 4*UPP is truly awesome - we'll soon find out!
