 @ myself really for this one...

So I got my new LCR glove box today and installed it only to find out I couldnt lock it because the lock on the old one was obviously for the car it came out of, now I had my handle apart on my old glove box to try and remove just the lock part but I could figure it out! Does anyone know how to do this that can provide pics???

As far as I know. You just unclip the handle and then once it's unclipped... You just undo the allen bolts from the inside and withdraw the locking mechs. Now.... Again I think it's just a case of unclipping the "new" handle and clip the "old" one that your key fits back on.

Might be completely wrong. But a whole new mech costs about £30 from the stealers. I am going to be getting one soon as my handle is completely broken off the clips :(

Careful as it's brittle :/

Il take a picture of the area as mines broken tomorrow for you fella and show you where it SHOULD clip to :)

Have you tried it? The glove boxes don't have a full tumbled lock, they are only a few deep so normally any key will open them.

Yea its the key barrell im wondering about, but I couldnt figure out how to get it out of the glove box handle once removed from the glove box itself

here you go mate

lts REALLY easy and will take you no more than 5 minutes!!!

- Open the glove box
- On the inside of the drop down part you'll see a seperate panel with 4/5 screws
- Use a torx 15 (l think) screw drive and unscrew all of them
- The whole panel will then pull out from the back
- Using a flat head, pop the old lock barrel out of the handle (you'll see what l mean)
- Push the lock barrel in to the new handle
- Push the new panal in again fron the back, in the same whay you pulled the old one out
- Put the screws back in
- JOB DONE!
