How much pressure when polishing?

Posted a while ago about giving my new emocion red leon its first polish and wax. Its only a month old and has only done 300 miles so far so its not grimey, it just has some very minor dealer installed swirls at the top of the doors

So I've got Autoglym srp and egp.

My question is, how much pressure do I apply when polishing the swirls? Should I just gently rub the polish over and let the polish do the work or do I use some elbow grease?

Reading this car detailing forum has got me to a state where I'm scared to touch the bloody thing

just use medium pressure when using SRP and remember to use it like it says on the bottle
