Pretty much same as, really, when it's cold never more than 3-3.5 thou, when it's warm and I'm having a play to the red in the upper gears.

Then if I've been giving it some on the drive through the village homeward just trickle along letting the turbo cool down, then sit outside the house for a minute or 2 just letting things cool down a bit more, and the oil circulate, hopefully this will help stop the turbo dying prematurely.

as most of you, i tend to change when cold at 3.5k

once warm i take her to the redline at 7.2k at least once per mway journey (2 per day for work). otherwise 3.5k-6k depending on conditions

I think cars benefit a lot from a good, high-rev blast every now and again. The previous owner of my last car, a Celica, never revved it hard and drove everywhere in 6th gear... and when I bought it, you could really tell! It felt too tight and restricted.

Within a month or two of me owning it and driving it properly, it felt 100% better :D

i may well be aquiring a p reg scorpio soon. elderly owner whos known for slow driving. its not been over 60mph in the last 7 years.

it seems to tremble now when i walk past it:blink:

going to be intresting......

just kidding, gotta wait 10 mins or so before warming it up and idle it for 5 before turning it off

my car is odd or ive bought a shed!?theres no boost till its up to temp!!strangely this doesnt bother me although it should!!I never boot it when its cold!!however i do thrash it most of the time and take it up to the limit!!!
didnt buy a turbo for good economy or driveability!!!!!

start,get kids in,plug in head unit/ipod/wait for VVT to drop engine to approx 900rpm.
drive 500 yards of 30 mph limit to by pass.add pasty.we constantly strife for cooler intake temps,yet we wait till the engine is at its hottest to give it some welly.
1.820vt is well lubricated (cept some certain BAM's)

Too right. As long as a car is PROPERLY warmed up, they should be revved hard now and again to keep the engine clean and tip top. I remember few years ago my dad had a volvo T5 which he never revved over 3k FFS! First time I drove it it was utter sh*t.. few revs (ok a lot) soon sorted it out!!!

I think the max power comes at 6200rpm so better to change up (unless you don't notice as happens to me on the odd overtake! Sometimes I wish it would peak at 9000rpm! :) )
My curve peaks at 6350 but is still flat until at least 6750. In tests at Santa Pod I know that I should change at the therorical peaks but in reality my fastests runs always come through changing around 7k. My thoughts on this are that the best band maybe higher up with Revo, changing too low must drop to a level that is not as good as the very top end.

I had a Uno Turbo years ago and accidentially put it into 2nd at 90mph. The needle went right around and hit the 0 peg! (est. 9-10k) Amazingly it did not blow up.

(I ruined 2 gear boxes in Fords through over reving)
